That's cute.
Yeah I see what you mean. But remember that some of those cool illus you saw over at CA and here where from people who did them before it was revealed that the valid countries are limited to the US and some others. |

maybe they weren't as much of warcraft/diablo/starcraft style works? They have very unique style and maybe they were looking for reproductions of it? Besides, some may have gotten disqualified for living outside the States tt.. |

The US wasn't the only eligible country. There was UK, France among others too.
It's strange that Cicinimo and MC Barret didn't do better in the contest. |

well I think Blizard has a very strong idea of their design style (which I don't really like as is, but which works great in their games), and they went in that line to select their winners. I'm also a bit unimpressed.
Cicinimo's entry is on his site (artpad.org) and it kicks major ass, I'm totally amazed that it didn't make it in the winners; but, as I said, it doesn't really fit blizzard's style. _________________ http://mv.cgcommunity.com/ |

Thanks Mikko, m@, and Ranath!
I think their selections make sense (some of them are amazing!). M.C. Barrett (a good friend of mine and coworker) and I really kept to our normal ways of doing things. If I have a chance to enter next year I'll probably try to work closer to Blizzard's house style. In the end Barrett and I had a good time trying to outdo each other (he won in that) and we have new pieces to add to our portfolios. _________________ artpad.org |
