After finding out that burned CD's and DVD's are clearly not archival in any sense of the word, I spent the last week transferring all my digital stuff since 1993 to a huge hard drive which I now keep on site and to DVD's which I keep off-site and plan to reburn every five years or so until something more archival is developed. Happily most of the stuff on the older CD's was still readable, but there were clearly developing problems. Some CD drives would read them completely and others had problems with certain files. Guess that is a sign of growing degradation.
At any rate, it was quite a trip going over all that stuff again. It included some scans of pre-digital work. I'd like to show some of them. Below are some pen and ink drawings done around 1977 (though some may be earlier). My proposed plans for a fruit cocktail cannery...
