Hey all,
Haven't posted any painting here in a while. Thought it was time.
Here's the latest one...it should be under WIP, but it's in one of those "drastic-change/keep-going-in-this-direction" crossroads.
Please give me feedback on what you think of it, likes, dislikes, awes and even "dude...you need to recycle that canvas" , unfortunately the photo doesn't give it the 100% justice it deserves.
It's acrylics on canvas, 1x1.5 meters....oils might be added later...just cuz I enjoy working in oils and it does give it a better look...or maybe that's just me...
Sorry if it was a large download
check it out here:
Enjoy...and throw me some feedback!! Cheers!

if anyones curious about the texts...
there's "empty", "loaded" and "chance" written by his motion/multi/artsyfartsy hands
around the chalkoutline body there's "sometimes you have to walk in darkness to see the light", "sometimes you have to be 6ix feet under to feel alive" and "and I called you name" |

Bluepixel: Thanks alot blue! Yeah, the acrylics are great to work with, prefer the finished look of oils though. Stayed with acrylics on this because it dries so fast I felt I could almost do a complete painting in one sitting. To this stage it took me about 7-10 hours to reach...moved on to a new one but will return and tweak IamLEGEND soon...
Buzzz3d: Thanks buzzz! You got it, that graphic style is what I usually go for, influenced a lot by Mike Mignola (keep it simple), Eduardo Risso(make art smack you in the face) Toby Cypress (fellow student at the Kubert school with a gritty and ground breaking style...one of the best!) and ofcourse the KING of art (according to me) Ashley Wood (draws/paints with the ability to bend rules and make art look F---ing awesome).
A lot of artists find drawing hands hard. So, I practiced and eventually loved drawing hands. So sometimes, in my art, they might be larger than they should. But I ain't trying to draw realism...just paint for the love of painting. So yeah, you're right...but it's a NICE big hand, right?
Wow...did I have a lot to say or what...hehe...thanks for the crits guys(or girls)...keep 'em coming!!! |
