thanks lingy-o, luc (think the ref was Vida Guerra -- strange face, but great bod), helltaxi (sure -- more to come...), flaskpost (is that ref from Hero?), gordm (thanx -- didn't you get the quote?), allpeter (like the golden light), skywalker (heh...i can arrange a hirez meeting if you like?), gecko: v. evocative sketches.

another Conan -- was going through Frazetta's Icon book, admiring the masters take on the Cimmerian and realising just how impressionistic he really was. anyway, ended up with a kinda homage to this classic conan painting -- painted directly onto the scan:)

Things are moving quickly in this thread.

Awesome work on the last couple lingy, especially the forest.

Myriad, your 3d work is amazing. I'm jealous as hell!

Miles, I like that a lot.

Gecko, sweet style.

Luc, you should keep up at CA, the sp pthread out there is in need of ppl.

petter, what's your profession, just out of curiosity?

Garden Gnome, even though the b&w painting is great, I like the first sketch the best.

Omi- robots, more robosts.

SkyWalker great stylistic rendering on that girl- takes skill.

I should have spent more time on this, in retrospect, I'm embarassed to have posted it. I did it last night in 40 minutes around 2 am, and when I finished, I was like, "Yes, this is awesome". I was too tired to even post, and when I woke up this morning, I was more 'hmm' about it, when I took another look. It has become progressivly less awesome as the morning proceeds.
Confused

My stuff is too monochromatic, so it's back to studying.

This was done 100 percent w/o the color picker, which is pretty meaningless for you old pros, but its a step in a good direction for me. I've been using it less and less, but I still cheated towards the end of previous studies. I still had to use PS's adjustment functions to get a close match sometimes, but I don't know if I'll ever get away from that.

The original was done by some guy, you ppl probably don't know him. He's ok .

Cool

Damn! I started on this one right after the last (the ringwraith one), hoping to comment on some of you more closely, but the list has grown too long again already.

Ddecoy, beautiful light
P-Rik, great stuff, as always (am I repeating myself?)
Skywalker (I like the Sky too, also the bride),
Falldamage: Thanks! I like your last studies. I think with your sense of observation anatomy should be easy for you. About your last: The guy has over 1000 paintings on his homepage, where is your ref to be found?
Ling-0 the judge is so cool! Only the frame is a little sissyin comparison.
Flaskpost: Thanks! Would you like an overpaint on the girl?
Kalakal and Ranath nice colors!

Quite happy with the strokes-mess in this one. I was out on the fields in the cold, and it occured to me, that the barbarians of common artwork must suffer tremendously from lack of clothes. So I decided to wrap this one better...

Done to see what I learned. Apparently not enough.

Duracel, the orc on the horse is really great
veege, I dunno what it is about that pic, but from the bottom to about the waist, it's awesome, then it goes flat. You run out of steam? That happens to me a lot.

Flask, thx, man. I'm currently entertaining delusions of becoming much, much better very quickly, hence the occasional frustration.

Annis- I love it except for something about the orange glow at the bottom, dunno why. Also, in a slightly related note, your signature is awesome; I sign my paintings like a damned 4-year old Cool

Ax, Bandados- awesome studies, I gotta do that.

I got a little frustrated today, so I put some real thought into this one. It's not a study, but I did draw inspiration from many different sources, and it looks a lot different than my original conception of what it would be- I changed the lighting around like 3 times, so there's some inconsistanncy, but I need some sleep, so too bad for now.

FallDamage: Thanks man, style is one of the things I love experimenting with. I'm amazed at how much output you have, its putting me to shame all the practice you're getting! Your last one w/o reference is one of my favs from you, you should consider being more free more often.

annisahmad: Thank you, I'm really digging the blues in yours.

SkyWalker: Thanks!

GeN: Thanks, and really awesome brush strokes man, I'm jealous.

Lingy-o, flaskpost, thanks :]

allpetter: I really love the yellow lighting you've used recently, it has excellent energy.

Luc: Excellent saturation usage and texture on the one with the cave. One of my favs.

Visual Myriad: I love the smooth flow of your lines and the line width variation on the ladies you paint... lovely.
