I'm a new member hre and learntofly told me about this forum. The works on here are amazing o.o and even the beginners here have great potential.
I first started drawing over 6 months ago and have been oekaking for about over 4 months now, I have recently began to delve into Cging as i see these awesome drawings on devinat art. The detail is astounding used and it inspires me to work my way up to their level. Anyway enough of that lol.

My first CG project- Fantasy themed- Open canvas.

So here is an elve with a foresty background and a giant horn on the side of his head lol.

I will continue to add detail to this and post updates of it.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and if you have any comments feel free to post them.

Welcome.
I think that the first one was better. You shouldn't use that burn/dodge tool. It makes colors look very gray, and boring.
Your sky is white. If you look out side, you can see that it's not white, but more blue. Use some references, that has somilar weather, and pick the color from the sky, and you will see that it's more dark and saturated that you could first think of.
Here is a reference for you. Good luck. Very Happy

I like the sky, very good job.
The forest seemes to need some more work tho. Again the same suggestion, look for reference. Perhaps you shouldn't try to paint those trees leaf by leaf, but instead try to find the overall look of it.
I know that it's a very common mistake to consentrate on one area (I make it all the time, but I'm trying to get over it), but you should (in my oppinion) paint everything at the same time, work the picture as a whole. You should learn this before it's too late for that Laughing
You'll thank me later for that tip when you get better.

But again that's just my oppinion, and I might be wrong.
