I've been posting words but no pictures lately. I've been a bit too busy with work, but then the architect that I do some contract work for needed a render of the building I was drawing for him.

Yeah probably not the best you've seen, but its only my fifth since 1996. I havent done one since 2000. Each one is about twice as good as the last. So you can imagine how bad the first one was Smile

Its a medical building, I didnt design it. I'm happy with the way the render came out, except for the really dark spot under the car. I've talked with several architects and yes they do like the light pavement. They dont want a lot of black parking lot in the image.

I did make all the trees, bushes, cars, people way back in 1999.
Lightwave 3D 6.5
Original size: 3000x1500 (this is 1000x500)
Took 30 hours to make, 5 hours to render with radiosity and low AA on a PentiumD 2.8ghz, 2 gig mem, GF6800
Touched up in Photoshop 2 hours, the shadow lines around the windows(which you cant see anyway at this size) and thickened up the bushes.
I'll get paid about $1300 for it.

looks like it would fit into the world without raising any eyebrows, which I mean as a good thing.

those half height windows at the ends are on a staircase?

Yep. Looks very possible. Good clean render.

I'm wondering those half height windows too. Staircase is good guess.

Yes there is a stair well there and a platform 2'-6" below the bottom of the window. You can see two doors on the side, one is for the stair well. The other two single windows on the front nearby are at bathrooms.

The front of the building that you see faces the parking lot. The back of the building actually faces a main road in town. On that side you see a group of 4 windows, first and second floor at that stair/bathroom area.

Just messing around today, I remembered I had some paper textures I made last year.

The texture was scanned from one of those notebooks you can get that are empty with biege pages. Then I made a series of 7 images from light to dark.

I was thinking about swaping out the trees for cubic looking trees, but that might be too blocky.
