2 Dudes riding a crashing russian aeroplane,

I was working on this one for the CG talk Spectacular challenge.
But stopped at this point and dumbed this concept...
(this is a 60% final image) I would haved finalized the colouring and added lighting fx and particles and distorted the image to have a fisheye lens feeling to it.
However i realy want to win something so i figured that i rushed the concept, so i dumped this one.
I will try a fantasy setting now.

and here a sketch/wip

yes, it is hard to see that it is a aeroplane.
In fact there are many things unclear.
I droped it and started something new.

VERY nice rendering...but, I see why you scrapped it.

Two guys crashing an aeroplane.

That's a good concept. Hopefully you'll keep the concept and just adjust your composition to a much wider, filmic ratio frame.

I think you'd get a great opportunity to show off those rendering skills in say, a dutch angle off the wing of the dudes about to fuck shit up!!

One guy in the back still popping his wheelie...and maybe the guy closest to us with like a samurai sword scrapping the body of the plane, making sparks and shit!
or...
Maybe even a not-so-high-bird's eye view of the same thing...swooping crane shot
Or...
how about inside the plane, riding down the walkway, back of he plane open going to hell, people flying out dying and shit and here comes the dude on this motorcycle straight at camera!!!

(pant pant)

well...you know...just a few ideas. Rolling Eyes Very Happy

Have fun, post again!!!

That's awesome.

If you gave the guy a samurai sword, like Reakshun said, then it'd look way too much like the bike scene in Final Fantasy Advent Children though.

i first realy wanted the guys have ultra long katanas...
But then again it would look even more like a FF AC rip off.
This is also one of the reasons why i droped it.
i want to come up with an original idea.

damn,
excuse me for being stoopid, but I've never even heard of or seen FF AC. Only FF: Spirits from Within (I think it was called).

The image just popped in my head. But, that's cool somebody thought of it too.

I am a big final fantasy fan, maybe the biggest (kill me)
I started art because of this game. when i saw the illustrations of Amano Yoshitaka back then, when i was a kid.
After i saw FF Advent Children i ws carried away and rushed the concept, i think i was just using it as an excuse to make some FF Fanart or something, i dunno.
This is not professional and not good enough.

I want to treat this contest seriously, so i need to give my best, this is the way i show other artists my respect.

I'm sorry, but is that a render (3D) or a painting?? The lighting and depthof field is pretty crazy, but yea, the composition's a little confusing (so is the foreshortening on the first biker, his bike looks really small? or maybe it is...), as well as the references to advent children, perhaps it could've been less focused on a certain bit and expanded the scope to give more visual clues so as to provide a better narrative? The plane-crashing concept is quite spectacular in itself.
But anyways, all the best for your next concept.
