ecsdesign - love those paintings.
Mikko K - inspirational even
after hours of tests and different ideas and approaches I still can't paint textures without overlays and custom brushes so here's something digitally bland

hey you guys! thanks for the thumbs up comments! life's busy as hell, but here's a painting i managed to squeeze between commission stuff.
it's the kind of forest troll you probably run into if you go mushroom-picking in finland.
The first version is the speed sketch, but I loved the direction it was taking so i'll also post the finished one.
the finished version is a few hours beyond speed paint, total paint time being about 5-6 hours.
sorry again if it's not in the appropriate place but i really wanted to share :).
sparth, luc, mikkok (ship is wow), igino, dylancole, .. great. mikko, what is that butcher house for? strange concept.
p4b10 your building at the base of the crystal is confusing to the eye... it looks faraway and yet like a macro shot of a small thing.
and what the hell is going on with all the scifi ships flying around?? it's good stuff, is this just inspiration going around or are you guys friends working together or... is it just that sijun and spaceships have always gone well together :).
digitaldecoy i love the jedi pose. very strange in it's monochromatic feeling of material, but works very well.
and mitsui, i really love that big robot landscape docking thing.
jr: beautiful portrait. looks very traditional-like.
and matthew, you just keep on rocking. I like the abstract paintings you've been posting. keep looking and exploring! Yeah i will go in 2 weeks, so life is crazy busy trying to get everything done.
maybe i forgot some names, but everyone: paint! post! don't forget traditional drawings... it helps.
catch ya later, maybe i have still more time for some painting! _________________ Gecko

Hello guys new to this forum
I am very inspired by the work on here. Spent the last few days looking at the work on just this thread.
Every bit of criticism is helpful for me, as I am trying to learn
A little bit about the piece:
Photoshop
took at a train park in L.A.
wanted to suggest a story here
I look foward to submitting more work

Sorry no pic, I'll post two next time I just have to comment these now.
Gecko> that's awesome! Did you notice how you did the penis right in the center of the image? Anyways, one of your strongest works I think, the twisted fairy tale feel really suits your sense of style. btw. The butcher house was for nothing special, I'm doing a new website and I just need more stuff to put there.
wigin: I knew someone would know it. It was a really weird coincidence that the next day I did that pic, the film was on tv here.. It's one of my favorites. You know, there's something similar coming next year, featuring both director Bird and actor Carlyle.
and you all, keep rocking, I'm checking this thread all day now |
