Digitaldecoy - such a difference in style! But I really like the first one.. Am I missing something? I almost dont believe you did both, but great job either way.
Zhuzhu - great watercolor. Yet another thing I have yet to learn.
Here's another.. Im so stiff! I am really trying to loosen up. It'll come to me

Awesome stuff... Im working on my process.. help me if you can, eh?
M@ - very cool, mysterious piece.
ZhuZhu - another great WC. Are these from photo or live model or niether?
Jr - Cool character. Nice stroke quality.. I like the light penetrating the lips.
Mitsui - great piece. I want to live there! maybe some blue to mix it up?
Ranath - great job, I can see this coming together.. I need to start working on my challenge as well.

This is my first post here. I'm watching this thread for a year now and its the best thread ever imo.
So here is a warm up that took me a bit more than half an hour. I tried to concentrate on mood. (I was hearing some Fantasy Metal while painting this and it made it a lot more fun)
There are many areas that would need work and the jpgcompression killed some details but its a speedpaintingthread so I'm not going to fix it. |

I don't know how many of you follow the spectacular challange, but here's my entry.
"The key theme of this challenge is the portrayal of something that is truly a spectacle - something both extraordinary, but within the realm of possibility. A once in a lifetime event."
I don't know if this fits in the realm of possibility though
hahahaha
I don't know if I should post this on CGTalk yet

i think the shadow is fine. Acouple things i would change is make the collar flat, not up. Also gangsters dont wear bow ties give him a regular tie. I think he would make a more convincing gangster. |

thanks guys, you're too kind.
Igino> your color choices are always very exciting.
M@> typek.jpg, need I say more?
Dylancole> I love your environments.
Vyle> I still don't know where you get your shapes from, awesome.
Sparth> I generally dislike most scifi stuff, your works being a big exception.
okay now my tongue is all brown, so I'll post two:
"the smell of meat cooking.. I thanked the Lord"
(quick and dirty)
Boyd "so did you eat the lady too?"
Ives "well, as a matter of fact.."
Boyd "you bastard!!"
(once more with feeling)
off to bed. |
