So I'm trying to come up with a template to work from for a stained glass graduation present for my little sister. I'm staining a piece of plexiglass by using a process which involves putting down fabric paint on the glass (enclosing a section to be colored) and then peeling it off.

Long story short: I should be able to replicate almost anything that I make a template for (backlit).

originally, the outlining for the butterfly's wings was black; but with the new background(which I might detail the significance of later, if asked), it was completely lost. But this new white outlining pops it out way to much, I think -- throwing the emphasis away from the coloring of the wings between the outlining (my original intent).

--also, the female figure is just a place-holder until I come up with a better pose.--

Any ideas of how to fix the problem of the outline? or any about new posturing of the girl?

C&C would be awesome, overpaints even more awesome!

--Jeff

The coloring of the wings seems to get lost in the background, as well as the lightness of the outline. I think if you were to darken the background around the coloring more, that would help make the wing colors pop. And you said that the wings used to be black...why did you go from black to such a light gray? How about a dark gray? Contrast is what is going to make the coloring pop, so get rid of the light colors around the wing colors.

As for the girl...maybe you can make her kind of like your sister? I don't know the situation at all and maybe you don't want it to be your sister...just try and do something significant with it. Good luck, and I'd like to see what you come up with.
