seth1, do they come in sticks for mechanical pens? I used to use charcoal but they smear way too much, especially if one wants detail.

the_insider, thank you.

pencil, ink, aquarelle, and acryl used for this one, experiment to achieve dark but I better rely on pencils in the future. It is easier to get dark when working big.
I better go hide and keep experimenting.

Odds, Matthew & the insider: cool stuff.
Matthew: Have you tried a 8B-lead? I don;t think they come in mechanical pencils though, I guess they would break to easy.

keep it up guys
buzzz3d; great life drawings... one suggestion i'd make is to smoothen your lines and have them flowyyyyy. let them flow through your fingertips and into the paper! i know i need to work on getting rid of the scratchiness too. Smile

Its good to see that this thread is still going strong, and especially with such great work.

Haven't posted much myself lately far to busy with school, but now that it is done for the summer there's finally time for me.

This was a piece done for my design drawing class, done in graphite, actual scale is 10x7 inches with an additional 1.5 inches of border all around (not all the border would fit in my scanner, so it looks smaller than it really is).

twitch, very nice

odds, thank you

buzzz3d, thank you, yea I might go back to that 8B. I have noticed that paper quality can boost even HB leads to dark. Might experiment more with it to see where it can be taken.

quick figure drawings from today, started to plan for a painting while doing so, hmm I better focus my mind more.

keep up guys

It's been awhile since i've had time to just sit down draw. I felt like drawing something with a depressing mood. So I drew myself.

Took about 40 minutes

Matthew, that experimental tree drawing/painting of yours is totally awesome! I love your abstract scarab spaceship spider plane mountain temple snake robot things too!

the_insider, very cool life drawings! I need to take some of those classes too.

Twitch, stunning render! What technique is that? I don't draw smooth non-angular transitions very well. Maybe my slight impatience adds to things.

annis, keep at it! Your structure is getting much better!

Some life drawings.

decided to turn one of those sketches into a piece...so this is the beginnings of it....just sstarted to build up with pencil...chruser...yea they definately help...i can only imagine how exhausting the life drawing classes are gonna be in college...Annisahmad...i would love to get old male models!...they have the most wrinkles!...though not the most rewarding to look at...my model was actually kinda cute...shhh
