I recently received as a gift The Techniques of Scott Robertson, Volume 1; Basic Perspective Form Drawing. Now before I go on, I want to state that I'm pretty good with perspective; it's never been a real problem for me, but admittingly I really like this DVD in particular; the foundation material inside is well presented, and I even learned a few things I didn't know before. Someone said here recently that Scott's DVDs were much better quality, and I have to agree; the quality of this DVD is the best to date in any Gnomon release I've seen (I own three).
If you're looking for a great reference to perspective drawing, then this is the DVD. Scott's narration is straightforward and easy to grasp, and the quality of the video is great. It's a real joy to watch and an inspiration to do more. Who knows how I (or you) might feel when seeing "How to Draw Cars".
Great work Scott - 5 Stars! _________________ - Tom Carter

Nice. I just took a gamble on the first Ryan Church DVD. My skill set is pretty low to begin with, but I can't see myself getting any worse for having seen it. We'll see how it goes after I view it in detail with my own work in the background.

His new dvds in digital environments look interesting. If it's anywhere near the quality of his perspective dvds it'll rock.
Anyone seen syd mead's last one? Gouache rendering? |

Haven't seen Syd's . . . thought about getting it though. I grappled with gouache terribly in college, but I was thinking maybe the dvd might instill some new motivation. _________________ - Tom Carter

I agree, thumbs up Scott.
But I can't resist asking if anyone here owns Marshall Vandruffs DVD's?, and with that in hand can compare it to Scotts DVD's?
I am very curious to know whether its worth owning both (moneywise, Vandruff does charge a load), and what does Vandruff cover that Scott doesn't and so on..so forth. _________________ /- |

I might be selling all my Gnomon DVDs soon. I'll post a link to the eBay thingy if I do.
Some Scott Robertson, Ryan Church, Feng ones.
Just don't really watch them at all thesedays. |

Keep me informed Ceenda; I am definitely interested. Also for those of you that are students (or faculty), remember that Gnomon does offer academica discounts (which is better than full price). _________________ - Tom Carter
