Those look pretty nice. There something that strikes me as weird on the first guy with the green skin though. It looks like he's glowing because of how intense those highlights are. Is that what you were going for? |

Into World of Warcraft eh?
Nice pics, but I'm limited in my critical expertise. I agree with the previous comment about the overuse of the dodge and burn, though I'm guilty of the same thing at times- I'm trying to ween myself off of them completely. |

These look nice Carlock. Little excessive on the dodge tool though. Next you should try varying your colors a little more (for instance, don't just use green for skin), and even try painting your line work completely out of the finished piece. |

Looking really great so far, much, much better than the extent of my digital painting skills at this point.
I agree with the previous comments about the dodge and burn tool and have one more thing to add. It may or may not have been intentional, but i find that where the black outline shows above the color to be really distracting, for example in the first one around the ear and defining wrinkles or dividing spaces.
I think if you were to play with the image more and try to blend the lines into the image more, or even go the step furthar and eliminate the line completely, fully relying on chiaroscuro (placement of light and shade) to build up your shapes and seperate planes it would make the image just that much better.
Other than that suggestion certainly no complaints from me, keep up the good work! _________________ "less is more" - Mies Van Der Rohe |
