hey guys,
this is a recent environment painting done with photoshop. The qhole picture took me ~12h. The basic conception for this picture was some kind of sci-fi/orinetal culture mix, but I dropt the idea and tried to paint something more mistic and silent. Hope I've reached the point
here's the picture:
comments and critiques very welcome |

That is really cool, I like it a lot. However, the funky perspective doesnt quite work for me. It isn't really a fish-eye kind of thing, because the building in the middle doesnt curve any. Really, the whole thing seems unbalanced - maybe you were going for that, I dunno. |

Wow, this is beautiful. No wonder it took 12 hours. It definitely feels mystic and silent. My only problem is that the buildings are slanting away from each other. It makes me feel like I'm going to fall out of my chair. Those floating paper lanterns are kind of creepy. Do they just hover there or do they move around too? The detail in this is seriously stunning. It's hard for me to fathom. What resolution did you paint this at? |

WOW that is AMAZING!!!!! Very beautiful, there's no way i could ever acheive something as extoardinary as that in a lifetime let alone 12 hours. I especially like the lanterns and water. Lovely lovely.
And I personally like the perspective. *shrugs* But that's me. _________________ DA Gallery| LiveJournal

I like the perspective too! Even tho it's not correct, (rightvanishing point is too close or something) I like the punch in the brain I get, its some kind of simulation of motion wich makes it feel as if I'm there, like if I was rising from a chair or something! youre getting better, fast, Tiger! slo down!! _________________ www.johnliberto.com |

crazyfrazee - yup ur right about the perspective. I tried to show it from "shooterish" way maybe becasue of it , the picture seems to be unbalanced. When I mirror it, the left side falls strangly, I'll remember that another time.
bishop- basic res was 2500
capt.- I can't stop! U must eject me first muhahaha
thanks guys for comments! |

Whoah! It really seems you're in really good painting mood. I really like this pic. I kinda have love/hate relationship towards the perspecticve you created. hehe If it would be up to me, I think I would define the water a little bit more under the paper lanterns to keep the photorealistic impression for a longer time. |
