Time for a trip with the way-back machine.

Old New Year's Resolutions threads:

http://forums.sijun.com/viewtopic.php?t=35556

http://forums.sijun.com/viewtopic.php?t=30905

Marvel at former members long past gone. Gawk at the evolution of wit among the more hilarious members. Most importantly, look at your own past resolutions.

For 2005, I'm resolved to

1) Make three great photographs (though I'd be happy with one.)
2) Get in a fist fight.
3) Alter my pants as fashion dictates.

I think I made my first real resolution this year, which is to overcome the things in my character that hold me back in life.

Hahah wow! Thanks, guy!

It looks like i've done well in the year 2004. Everything i wanted to do i did, except for the most important part of course. And that is STARTING TO MAKE SOME MONEY! Sad

- go to China Ok.
- bring up my homepage Ok.
- buy a laptop Ok.
- start MAKING MONEY! Error!
Quote:
If i don't make money in 2004, i'll be a broke ass bum, just like i was throughout 2003 :0

I'm still a broke ass bum.. keeping it real in the new year.

Oh man. This was mine for 2004:

Make more music. (Ended up with only 2.5 new tracks)

Write more screenplays. (Wrote more treatments, but no screenplays)

Get my swimming sessions up to 10 laps. (Don't have a swimming pool anymore)

Save up for that upcoming Canon professional DSLR. (Yep. Got the 1D Mark II , took tons of photos and improved my photography by a lot. Got a studio lighting set too, and took on a big pro assignment and nailed that sucker.)

Now, for 2005:

Finish a new body of oil paintings.

Finish a new body of digital paintings.

Get my photography up to highend pro standards (meaning I'd be confident enough where I wouldn't even bat an eyelash if someone asked me to shoot a cover for a high profile magazine).

I'd like to compose more music, but I have a feeling I'll be too busy for that.

I'd love to work more on my novels and screenplays, but it's the same problem as with music.

new year's resolutions are made to be broken.

i didn't buy that suit, cut smoking to half, stop drinking, didn't travel, or in fact didn't do anything.

not gonna even bother trying this year.

re, members of last/year before, they're still here and nothing changes. you'd think you could just deny and forget this place exists. right. right?

Mine haven't changed abit. That's kinda frustrating though...

- improve my skills (not only art related)
- get the driving license (still driving with my old bike)
- socialize my life (whatever that means)
- finnaly graduate (weeeeee!!)
- less entertainment (TV n' stuff) more reading!
- write a screenplay (always wanted to do that)
- more photography (black and white)
- do stuff i wouldn't do normally (hmm....)
- draw more
- draw more
- dammit, draw more
- argghh....

I wish you all good luck with fulfilling your resolutions!!!!

Well, I met last year's resolution (got a job) . . . now I just need to figure out what I'm going to do once this movie's done.

I worry too much. Maybe that's my resolution this year. I should definitely try not to be such a worrywort . . . it's not good for my health, neither mental nor physical.

It'll be 5 years of Sijun for me this year. Ain't that some shit?

Happy new year guys, a bit late perhaps. Oh well.

Hmm, semi-newcomer promises:

- Draw and paint more, at least 5 sheets per day.
- Understand anatomy much better. Gah!
- Find out where Spooge went on vacation. Hopefully not some tsunami-drenched paradise island, given the fact the bastard lives in Hawaii. Where do you go on vacation when you live there anyhow? Antarctica?
- Learn telepathy or telekinesis.
- Learn to sleep less than my current five hours per night.
- Learn part of at least one of the following languages; Japanese, Chinese or Korean.
- Gain weight.
- Locate the sacred drug store that sells bottled art skills.
- Start a cool project, maybe a computer game.

Good luck keeping true to your solemn promises, everyone. Smile
*cough*

[RANT]
Yikes, why do all old-timers have so many posts? I've been here over a year, and I only have 93 of them, yet I've felt active. Maybe I've spent more time reading than commenting though. Blah.

And yes, I can manage on five hours of sleep per night, I did so for about a month straight, but I get pretty mindbogglingly confused for the first hour or two. Slow boot. It saves a lot of time, though. Much better than my current 12 hours I've been sleeping during the holidays. Maybe I'm catching up. Hmm...
[/RANT]

On a more serious note, has anyone heard anything from Spooge during the past 30-ish days?

I've never made any new year's resolutions before this year. The ones I've seen all began with "Starting this year, I'm finally going to ___________!" which seemed like a pretty good way to end up disappointed on February 1st.

I figure, though, if I approach the act of resolving as saying "When I look back on this year, I'll have accomplished all of these goals: _____________" I'll have the advantage of not setting a due date. I have a strong gut feeling that I'm right.

i'd like to know for sure.. kinda worried.

my resolution: art center trans program within 6 months (unemployment will run out by then)

i have no annoying pesky programming bullshit databse software for real estate industry job anymore... and all the time in the world to pound at paper. They found it in their merciful hearts to lay me off. I thanked them, and asked them why they didn't do it 2 years ago. Heartless pricks.
