AX--HV love the image did a little paint over to make the archer more dynamic, I dont got the texture feel down so he dont quite fit with your image- hope you don't mind.

viag, dig those colored windows in the background Smile

ax-hv, great painting - except the mentioned undynamic composition

i think its because all parts are perfectly balanced to the horizont - like a scale. There are no other directions in the picture except "from right to left and back again"; and if you're looking at the sky or the ground your view isn't guided anywhere.
To this, the ogre don't seem to be "really big/heavy" or something, ok, he is twice the size of the human, but thats all ...
... so allover the picture has a more documentary feeling, which shows, how the man is killing the ogre easily.

I did an overpaint to give you an idea how you can fix this without much fuss - just scaled up the ogre and concentrated the ground on the ogre and the sky on the bowman.

Hope it can help a bit. Smile

(Edit: just see, Inferus did another overpaint - nice to see he's going another way)

watmough, thanks!
Inferus, Duracel, Matthew, thank you so very much for sharing your ideas. Composition always was my weakness and I didnt realize it. Now I see why some of my images look so weak.
Duracel, the overpaint is so intense! Ill allow for your tips.
Do you know where to find some info about composition? Id like to know how to build it correctly (like you have shown)

Sorry, no pic
