Hi,
I took a peek at your site, and liked your work. Others who have more knowledge and experience with that art style (comics) will have to do the critiques since I dont' have that knowledge. In any case, I like 'em.
Do yourself a favor though. Open an account at Photobucket.com so you can upload your images there, to your own gallery, then either post clickable links to the image files or paste the links to the image files between image tags like this...
... so they'll display in your messages here and on other message boards.
Photobucket.com is free, and easy to use:

The Tripod ads and popop windows are annoying to say the least and detract from your web page content. Often, it's annoying enough for people to just leave without spending time looking at your site.
If you're going to continue using Tripod, you might want to fix your home page. As it is now, the bottom left portion of the image is misaligned with the top portion, so the detective's top is on the left and the rest of him is centered below that top image. Then the bottom right portion of the image is centered below both, like this:

At least that's how it displays in Netscapt 7.1.
Just checked and it displays OK in MS Internet Explorer 6. That's how I learned how it's supposed to display.

From a perspective of website design and user experience, I don't like it; there's too much work involved to try and get to the real meat of the site. If I were an art director looking for hires and saw your site, I would've left after the second click through. I actually did leave after the second click through. How many more click throughs do I have to go through to see the actual site content? Cya.
Don't take it personally. I'm just trying to be constructive. Remember this: if your website is to be a point of sale for your services, then expidite the delivery of what you're selling - make it simple and easy. You might think a continuity style click through is cool, but it's not a good idea for a website.

Thanks for the replies
Jin I agree the pop ups are distracting and like everyone else mentioned, I didnt even think how it might read in other browsers. Yeah I have a photobucket account and it's good for individual pieces.
Gort I think you have a point. I was trying to add some substance but ultimately I want to present my work so cutting the intro might be a good idea. |
