Greetings, Sijun artist's!
i just wanted to share that my artwork was recently used in a feature film, called "Relative Strangers", that will be out in theaters in '05.. and i got to appear in the movie, playing myself, the artist.. for the gallery scene that was shot for the movie (along side of Danny Devito, Neve Campbell and Kathy Bates)
the 'hero' artwork used was titled, "Anguish', and it appears as the subject of the gallery scenes (the actors listed above-- are gathered around it-- talking about it in the movie!) -- and i'm standing next to them, in the shots, as an extra..
it was a great experience (being on set) and a great thrill to see one's artwork being used for such a thing.. and i'm really hope to use this exposure to get a solo show with a gallery-- showing my "Live life/Not death" series..
anyway-- just thought i'd share this with the community! (the "Anguish" artwork is below.. and i'm attaching a new image that i just completed for the series, as well-- titled, "Odious Nervosa") -- comments and feedback on this piece are welcome!
cheers,
-cg
here is the artwork used in the movie, titled "Anguish" (it was created in Photoshop and then printed 24x36.. and then painted over using oils, for a mixed media result)
..and here's me with the cast from the film (danny devito, kathy bates, myself-- Chad Greene, and Neve Campbell)
here's the 5 paintings used in the film.. (artwork from my 'Life/Death" series)
..and this is the new artwork i'm posting-- that i just completed.. titled: 'Odious Nervosa'
thanks for your time! ..to see more of my artwork, please visit my online gallery: http://www.cg-2.com _________________ _____________________

thanks for the feedback and kind words! (especially from you-- i've been an admirer of YOUR work for quite some time!)
as for the 'job'-- they contacted me from my web site.. get this-- they were going to use the Scream (munch's famous piece)-- and it was stolen! so.. they set out to find something similar in style.. showing anguish.. and they did a Google search on anguish art--- and that was the title of my art! (i was *very* lucky! eh?)
as for Dave McKean's work-- he's a HUGE influence on me! i've been following his work since he started! (so-- i take that as a compliment!) -- his work is amazing!
cheers!

The last one looks like you invited all the kiddies from deviantart.com to a tea-party, then let them get angsty on their o-juice and tell them to slap a texture on your original pic each one, twirling around the magic of Photoshop filters and blending modes, shifting up the contrast into devastating extents that make baby-Giger cry, making you the hero of so-called dark-art without claiming to be an artfag as do 93.1% of deviantart hoping to get recognized in the scene and CNN and earning much blingbling without actually knowing what an artschool looks from the inside.
The family photo looks neat. |

That's amazing, I can't believe it. You played in a movie with Danny Devito,
Neve Campbell and Kathy Bates - because of an Google search they did???
I'd give everything for such an experience...wow
Hey, you deserve it!!! Your art is wonderful!!
I especially love the big one in the middle of your new Odious Nervosa art.
......so,...how is Neve like |

blehblehbleh: that was a great posting! funny stuff.. and made me really laugh out loud! (thanks! ..i think!?)
max: yes, i was really lucky and it was a dream-come-true, of sorts! i'm really looking forward to seeing the work on the big screen, when the film comes out!
as for Nev-- she was SO HOT in person! wow.. she was wearing these really nice dress pants and.. well, i'll stop there! (hehe) ..her personality was great.. we talked about my work and other things in between takes.. but the best was talking to Danny Devito-- he was HILARIOUS! he asked me where i was from originally and i hold him the Toledo, Ohio area.. and he was like: 'wow! Holy Toledo is my favorite saying! i say it all the time..' then while we were shooting-- he kept joking with me.. and telling me to do certain things on camera-- to make the director mad (but i didn't!) and he kept calling me Toledo guy! he then came up to me afterwads and said: 'you know-- i don't get you.. you look normal.. but then i look at your artwork and wow! -- something is wrong with you, Chad!' ..and then he'd laugh.. we talked about each piece and he was generally interested in my art.. he's even considering buyng one of the pieces.. i'm talking to his reps about it now!

Yo...this shit is ill. What the hell are you smoking on, dude? CAN I GET SOME?
Naw....seriously...this is some expressive powerful work you got going here. It's emotionally charged and that my friend IS REAL ART. Like TARGETE says: POWER, MOVEMENT, EMOTION, and SOPHISTICATION.
You hit all those on the head...
Now if you could only hit Nev Campbell, MY GOD. Don't you wish you were Matt Dillon for ONE second? Geesh...
I'm out like Jim Kerry.

thanks for the many kind words, my fellow artist's! (much appreciated)
reakshun: left coast, eh? what part? your comments made me chuckle! as for Nev-- i wanted so badly to tell her that i loved her 'performance' in Wild Things! ..but i didn't! (wish i could do that one, over again!)
Jokua-- i'm working on a 'making of' currently.. and i'll be posting it on my web site really soon.. stay tuned (but a quick answer to your question is: it's a mixture of digital photos of myself.. and my friends.. i then photo manipulate these in Photoshop.. and then paint the final flattened piece in Painter.. i then print them on canvas, and then paint over top of that with oils.. letting some areas of the original print show through.. while covering some areas with really thick oils -- ala impasto brush strokes..)
thanks, again..
