ax--hv, those close-up facial shots are awesome. I love them!
DangerousLlama, very cool character.
Spooge, looking at that picture with your eyes squinted or from a distance... Wow. It goes from an awesomely stylish picture to very lifelike.

Sorry for not posting much lately. I've been busy with school, drawing more than painting lately. Anyway, here's another experiment, rom ref. An hour or something, trying to eyeball the perspective without too much luck.

thanks chruser, I like that sketch more than I usually like them.

This is a rework of an old sketch- much better now, or I should say less clumsy. combine real WC with the original, picking what I like in each. Useful process.

Love the textures spooge. do u use an overlay for the textures or are they made using custom brushes?

Cok3-If I remember that painting started working over an old painting, but in the image above there is a lot of the real WC showing untouched. But yes custom brushes are a great help. There is no dodging or overlay, though.

llama, no, I draw anywhere after 3PM:) Now I go to Phil Sabado's(ex illustrator, now paints Hawaiian mana themes, just had a show with really nice ti plant paintings) studio tues nights for 3 hours. I might look into the CC, if it is evening. I need much more studio time.

And now I have a visual puzzle for you. Don't ask me, I don't know, it's 15 years old. I got a new flat file so I am going through massive piles of rotting artwork and finding a lot of embarrassing stuff
