Man the opening credits were just as good as the movie. The watercolors were awesome.

Does anyone know who did them?

Also, check out The Marvels. It's a few Marvel universe stories shown through the eyes of a reporter, illustrated by the incomparable Alex Ross.

I'm thinking it might be Sam Raimi's way of apologizing to Alex for the problems they had with the first Spider-Man movie -- apparently Alex had did all sorts of conceptual work (Spidey, Lizard, Green & Hobgoblin) for the movie and then never heard a word from them after that -- nor a penny (if I recall -- it was in Wizard Magazine or something to that effect.)

i must say that its was the best part of the movie, hehe, Alex Ross's art along one the big screen along with Danny Elfman's Spiderman Score in full force is simply awesome.
