Can anyone tell me how to partition my hard drive so that I have a C:\ drive and a D:\ drive?
I know how to get to the disk management area, I just don't know what to do from there
Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Compuetr Management >> Disk Management
That is where I have got to so far.
Thanks,
Tom. |

I don't think Windows comes with a tool that will partition a drive leaving the data intact. You can do it if you're willing to lose all the data on the disk, but otherwise you'll need something like Partition Magic. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

Definitely back-up any important data before partitioning a disk . . . sometimes thing go awry
Partition Magic is pretty much a point-and-click commercial product, so it's easy. However, you might try one of the free partition managers on the free
Ultimate Boot CD. In particular, the Ranish partition manager on there might do what you're looking for. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |
