The first thing that comes to mind is that you have to think a bit about what the area of interest is.
The high contrast in the top left and top right corners makes those areas compete for attention.
That is a clash already. Makes it less pleasant to look at.
And then there is nothing there in the corners.
Reserve the high contrasts for the figure.
You use black and white for shadows and for highlights too much.
Better pick a color yourself. Take local color and environment into account. _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |

alright, i'll try that. the reason i used white for the edges and what not, is that i was going for a more comic art look. i guess i didn't get that look too well. Thanks for the good advice and i might go back and touch it up. _________________

My advice would be before picking up painting complex figures, to practice drawing the figure from life. I think it's one of the most important things an artist can do. When I was taking basic drawing course, I had several figure drawing courses that I honestly feel improved my art more than any other classes I have ever taken. |

thanks for the advice. i can draw pretty well, in my opinion. but it's totally different when i do it on photoshop with a mouse. mabey i will start to take my drawn pictures and work on them in photoshop. it will probably solve the proportions problem i've been having. _________________
