Hey ! Back from holiday.
I thought I could share a few concepts and a final design made for a "famous" summer show on the main Norwegian Tv Broadcast - which probably don't mean much to anyone here. But, Here you can see all the concepts finding their new "bee" design which was later made as an animated vignette (the final bee would have given you a totally different impression when animated inside its designed enviroment). So, you can see that the character changed quite a bit from start to final.
Very ealry sketches:
while being in a uncertain stage:
closing in on what they wanted:
final character:
Another something (nothing much) with a TOTALLY different style than I'm used to. For a neighbours 40th birthday - front cover invitation. Made mostly just for fun. THe face might look a bit weird since that's a charicature of "her" and the body.... well,- I was very nice with the curves I gave her

Is there a difference between the first three images? Awesome characters though, I love the personality and spark each one has. I'm amazed that you were able to create so many unique personalities... Most people would be tied down by the whole bee requirement and have a bunch of characters that looked the same, but you managed to take it in so many different directions. I'm not quite sure why they went with such a simplistic design after all that though?
The invitation looks great, very simple, yet very slick and appealing. |
