I thought it might be prudent to post this now before it is too late to change anything.

Now first of all I�m not quite sold on the little girl yet, I�m aware that she is a little stiff but I have not yet decided if I want to add wings and make her the daughter or remove her completely and replace her with a different figure. The position she is in would work in several of my story ideas but each one has a different setting.
Secondly, Iv not quite decided on the background ether, this is the third one so far. All have the light coming from the top right but each featuring different figures and structures.

But I guess all I really need to know is if she looks balanced, proportional and so forth.
Oh, and the background is only a rough...

Good start. Yeah I don't like the drawing of the girl so much, is not near as well done as the woman. I'd completely redraw her with some reference if I were you. The way you have the image blocked in is looking good.
