Hum, how do you guys got those brushes render ? As if you painted on a texturised paper...
Do you really use those brushes or just add them as a finishing ? |

Welcome!
Especially i like the colors in the second one.
@geki
Well, most time you use those brushes - but well, you can also add some additional layers in the end to get a special look. Do what you like.

inspired by sketches from class today, but as it's not actual life drawing, it goes here.

Sticky has a site with reference pictures from movies and I am a member in his forum on that site. He is doing a great job with the site and is adding new snapshots from movies every once and a while.
I recommend u guys to visit the site and perhaps join the forum to request movies and also perhaps add your own movie ref.
Heres the url and perhaps u have seen it in the random section:
http://www.knowthemovie.com
Heres a picture I made from a ref from Stickys site, Gladiator movie.
a quick study.

Time for Baron H to make an appearance (albeit heavily influenced by Dhabih's arbiter).

Elliot, that tree and landscape is very nice ! I like to see something refreshing in that style, considering the usual styles of illustration here
Reminds me of Cezanne, late 19th early 20 century french painting...
Once again, it proves the old masters are the best teachers...well...ok...Mother Nature is teacher number 1... _________________ If there is no God, who pops up the next kleenex in the box? |

ZhuZhu>> I really like how u experiment with different kind of brush and texture on each of your recent pieces. Very brave and very well executed.
