Hey! I started this one the other day with no refrences and I think I wanna
do the whole thing with no refrences because, as most know, it gives you a
sense of satisfaction knowing you still got it (only thing better is drawing
from life, but where am I gonna get a PLANE! or even
better how am I gonna take my desktop setup
to a Plane like this.. ;p) rrrrright anyway..

MY PROBLEMS

1. I am very bad with lighting and the dynamics of it..
I have no idea how to set up the lighting on this
(btw there will be a mechanic working on the plane cuz that's just cool.)

2. not sure about background or all around color composition. I can always change anything.. I want an image I can be proud of.

--MORE PROBLEMS SOON TO BE POSTED!!!!

so have a look please, I will update with more later.

Thanks for reading and THANKYOU FOR ANY FEEDBACK!! you guys rock.

heh, you put a watermark on it Smile

Some of the details don't follow perspective too great. Airplanes are ussualy shiny, so when you do paint it make sure that they properly reflect on the light source.

As for the coloring, use the color wheel. I'm not realy great with how to use it all the way though so I can't help you too much, but there was a tutorial posted at this website somewhat recently so maybe you can find it there. or you could google it.

And when people use references, alot of the time they are going online and finding a picture of it there, not actualy going to the airstrip. some people might though, who knows! heh.

cool thanks wagner, can you post which aspects of my image might need help on perspective so I can take care of that before I begin coloring? I don't think I am going to have black lines on it, i am just going to paint over them in a layer. and I am not planning on using a refrence on this.

I am planning on putting a mechanic in front of the open panel.

the mechanical stuff right behind the propeller... I don't know plane terminology, sorry. Very Happy

Also, the shapes inside of the opened panel are a little weird. I'd add more little mechanical things under that panel as well.

Make sure that when you paint it your shiny things are shiny. to make things look shiny, make a larger contrast between the levels of shading. You can look at shiny things to see what i'm talking about.

no problem, that's what this forum is for Smile

I am starting to work on the shading as you can see above. I need some
help on a figure.. I am terrible at drawing people without drawing from life, but no-one at my house is gonna pose for me..

the one part of the nose is nice, but some of the other parts of it need to be more shiney (unless you don't want it to be a shiny plane).

Try adding streaks of white or something...

as for the person, try going online to find a person. I'd use some kind of reference for the mechanic, but you said you didn't want to use any Confused if you have one of those wooden figurines you could draw off that i suppose...

good luck Very Happy
