I haven't posted here in about a year...
here are some relatively new paintings done for a collectable card game called magical empire, which is in development.
Lich
Necrologe
oh yeah, these are made with open canvas by the way (version 3+). |

Well I'd have to say I like the second one best, the colours look pretty good. The dramatic foreshortening on the lich looks good, except it also looks like the lich has a really short arm! Sorry, rushed for class so that's as good a crit I can give off the top of my head. _________________ "Me? I'm a pop idol."

thanks, and yeah, the arm thing, if you think about it, it can look like his hand's attached to his sholder, which isn't really what I intended.
thanks anyway |

The use of contrast is good in both pics, and there is nothing major wrong with any of them.
I think there is too much black in both pictures, as before the foreshortening isnt quite on with the lich's arm. The fact you used opencanvas for both these pics is quite obvious, i used to use open canvas all the time and pictures tend to always look the same. See if you can use a copy of painter it has a wider range of brushes and textures. On the lich pic the moon is massive maybe use more referance to do your backdrops.
the composition in both is pretty sound keep working at it. |

I definately like the second one the best. It's awsome! The first one however looks kind of off. His right eye looks weird for some reason, and the moon does look too big, and his arm does look pretty short. It's a really cool pic though nevertheless, and I love the texture on the cloak, it looks so real! |
