Wwelcome theo, ok NOW I can se them
You asked for crits, honwestly I don't know what to say, cause all "errors" is just "i need more practise" errors
anyway, I think it looks great, very nice definition of form and function, I like the legs of the leg thingy, maybe oyu could play around in photoshop and add some color and material on them, now theyre just, plastic/aluminium ish, would be really cool with some parts glossier/more matte than others, where its been used or not, but anyway, I still think its good concepts being handed over to the 3D modellers, but not for te texture artists!
Keep it up!

Wow, nice work.. my first reaction was "nice celshading.. why the hell is there tippex all around it?" Very nice structure & all. No real flaws in these, I agree with flush that more colour and texture would be a nice way to go next for them. :>
Where in sweden did you study?
(If you've studied art at all that is) |

mr muse, sorry to disappoint you, I didnt study art, and I still dont. And I still wish I do But most artschools in sweden are buuulllssshiiiit in my opinion. To much hippietrams and nothing solid. Their might be some school with a nice conceptart courses, but taking those would require studying a gazillion bs courses.
But I know, ill only get better by studying, so I shouldnt talk down on it, quite a dumb thing to do infact.
Im glad you liked the structure etc, thats what took time. the shapes.

Yeah, I know what you mean with many educations seeming a bit bs. I havent really studied anything since I graduated gym, art (and that was pretty hippie, yeah). If you find anything, please let me know. :) I want to study at a place where it actually pays off too.
I saw some real awesome concept design work from sthlm (I think) in some mag though, but I don't really remember which it was. Probably some carmagazine. Maybe it was from konstfack, but I dunno (I never really seen anything from there that wasn't about analyzing life from a big red square nailed to a cardoor stuck to a wall). |

These are beautifully drawn and rendered. Well done!
My only crit is that I think you have to think more about the reason for the shapes being there. Right now it feels like many of the shapes are there purely for esthetic reasons only. For example the walking canon doesn't look like it would have much grip on the ground with it's tippy toes. It's also really back heavy, which makes me think that after it makes a shot it would fall on it's back. |
