ok weekend is over and time for bed.

I sometimes think I am putting up some kind of mental block or something and make things more complicated than they are and I feel I should be able to be better than my latest speed attempts here.
I started with this Speedy thing so that I could practise on my immagination in my pictures and also so that I wouldnt get caught in that reference over-using. Somehow I have had easier with ref using and copying, I hope I will be better without ref too but it seems like it will take some longer time though.

Capt.Flush, yea you are right there, thx for the comment there.

Spooge, I guess she missed her flight hehe.
Cast shadow stuff yea still looking for a book though and I hope the library will have one for me. Thank you for keep pushing me with it. Smile

ax--hv, thx there.

Mon, wow killer stuff, nice to see you in the speedy again.

pringle, me likes.

see you and keep it up everyone

Camel from ref.. camel in fifth element movie

sorry for all the ref paintings.. i decided to start doing some of these. I havent dont ref work in a WHILE and thought i couldnt do it anymore =p so i went back to trying it out. Also i learn quite a bit if i diversify the reference . Which will help me alot visually later on if i want to know what a camel looks like =p.

hey mon, looks like Harris, he's a god

Matthew, you won't find it in a book, I will save you some time. Ask at the school you are attending. Maybe look through fred flickstones tutes. Like I said, if you cant find it, I will put something together

This posted so I could talk, you know.

Thanks for liking the latest beating of a dead horse with the mouse ears thing

First try with Painter. Without any idea what it will be when starting out... Took about an hour. I guess Ill dig into Painter a bit more in the future...

swarm>> gals are nice, especially the last one,i like your shape design.
spooge>> all your mickie-hat-woman pics are gorgeous, they should make a movie based on them. the last cityscape looks somehow a bit too shining to me, like the previous one(that one with a same bird view which you posted a few pages back) better.

i gotta learn how to work with patience

...those citypics, spooge...! Razz the last one's very miami...

seems like you have overdrawn some of the dark areas and made them a bit darker than in nature; less realistic, but cool. remember you said, the more black you put in a picture, the happier you are with it...

Swarm & Zhuzhu: Im feelin da evolution of style. U 2 are the quintessential inspiration of this forum to incorporate more females in our artwork! hehe.
Pringle: nice control and decision making in your work.
Mon: more vignettes!
Spooge: the mickey series is classic.
Styles: hopefully, you were right about dat black thang.

Kinda blurry, but, I went to a video shoot this weekend...this is all I could remember...

wasssup, nice.
welcome axhv.

spooge is there a specific reason for you doing those cityscapes? what are you after?

on top of marker/gouache sketch
i'm still after Frostesque perspective. die darlings, die.
frost is the man.

janne..?

and again, gally0 and swarm good work, i like.
matthew go with reference more often.

mon and henrik you should visit more often :)

oh yeah, zhuzhu, you're so busy posting im almost taking your images as granted. please keep going.

and mikkok, take some more free time between work and post a couple sketches. jms?

duh. edit: forgot other fish swimming by.

OH! and!
i just recalled that there was a sketch of fish in kind of a similar setting in my 500 project. i found the old jpg. it's created almost exactly 4 years ago.
here we go.

Spooge!

I'm having trouble with this one. The lighting seems to be right, but the focus isn't where it should be. I find myself looking at the star area more then the whole thing. I guess focus should be on the torso...i'm not sure where the viewer should be looking. But i've gotten so into fixing this up that i can't see any problems with it. It all looks right to me.

Any comments, or directions, things to add, subtract? Speed paintover, reff?
Thanks

oh it was real pain. the right figure I painted 15 min . just happy accident but another took 10 times longer time and this suck still .the right side of torso . suck well I think I need begin copy from old masters to learn more about colours. and of course DRAW DRAW

gallyo I like your works very much . always so inspiring.. typical for frenchies Smile

wassup do you know how it is good to look your new works. fresh as always .. the water tastes so good Smile

matthew.. what interesting motives.. keep up good works everyone

Capt.Fred, like jungle_wall on page 293

Pringle, great panorama!

GallyO, dig your sketch 16 ... (your style reminds me of viag's which i really like too).

ax--hv, the ship rocks! (only the sails didnt convinced me in perspective)

Spooge, fantastic dome-scenery! - btw, don't really liked your traditional repainted hovership you posted some days ago ... well it still looks great, but lost a lot of the digital one ... one thing is the new image-proportion(the room looks in the original not as skewd and more wide as only long) and dont like the less differences in value, especially the cast shadows by the blinds(perhaps only the scan??) ... also i missed the green lamp on the right which gave an interesting counter-part to the red hair.

Here are two (each)20minutes speedies i painted in a little sketchgroup-channel:

theme: "gangster with a rose"

theme: "how to eat a brain"
