I know, I am posting like a madman today, but I just wanna get some cloudy thoughts out of my head. I read a book about psycology and I will try to summarise the content here: There are 4 life positions:
Im k, You are OK; I not OK, U OK; I not OK, U not OK; I OK, U not OK.
We all have the position I not Ok, U OK from the beginning, and most ppl keep that position all their lives. Thats a shame. U need good parents that keeps saying that you are ak in some way, or else you cant abandon the position , that is completely wrong and biased on the first impressions you have got from life, which always are bad ones( why daoes every baby scream when they come out do you think?)
When you feel NOT OK, you want ppl to say that you are, so NOT OK-ppl always surround themselves with OK-ppl, just so they will get the love they need. Its just like that beatles song "All you need is love". Its true. If you feel Ok, you have the power to say that others are Ok, and if you give love, you get love. If on the other hand you dont feel Ok, you dont have the power to give love, you dont get any love(well ok, but you will not get overly much). Its hard to summarise a whole book, but if I would try to do that with only one sentence, i would say: Dont try to be happy, try to make other ppl happy. I dont have time for further analysis, cause The Hitcher starts very soon, but feel free to comment, Ill be happy to clarify stuff.

Say what? Don't worry, I get it. It makes sense, but what happens to us anti-social people?

Its hard to be anti-social, yes. Cause you need to communicate to get the OK-wibes.
The thing you gotta know is, that you dont feel NOT OK because you are anti-social, its the reverse. Anti-socialness is NOT your greatest problem! Its just a thing like any other thing, you gotta train on it to be good at it. Its like art.

I'm not ENTIRELY anti-social. I have friends.

I think the world's greatest problem right now is being over social.

No, I'm not referring to you. It just seems that less and less people have smaller groups of close friends, and more and more have larger groups of not-so-close friends.

You spelled "referring" wrong. Sorry. I try not to correct people too much, but I'm a writer. Old habits are hard to break.

The book doesn't happen to be "I'm OK, You're OK", is it ?

Please define "OK", btw.

I think I have a psycology textbook somewhere. It was tossed over our fence one day along with a couple beer cans and a sweatshirt.

anti-social means without conscience BTW. Avoidant is what most people mean by anti-social.

and as for overly social being a problem, it is when you fantasize it is, meaning that if you start thinking in terms of other people are always having fun and what you're missing, then it'll be a problem for you

interesting post, I get it, but it's the kind of thing that'd be fun to mull over for awhile later
