Hey all again,

I hope this one brings a little response Smile.....

I have been working on my first digital painting of a landscape and I have the basic colours and idea laid out but creating detail I am finding is more of a challenge. Is there any suggestions?? I basically use a lot of the smudge tool...is this a bad idea?

I am using photoshop 7 with a optical mouse (would rather have a wacom tablet but you do with what you have).

Thanks Smile

Work from refference. Show us what your trying to create. Without that its hard to say. If your doing a lawn with alot of sticks you got it down! Smile

Do you know what speed painting is?

If not go check out the speedpainting thread.

The reason I ask is its what has begun to start freeing up my hand to just draw/paint what I see. Its wierd but the doodles start looking exactly like what you see. I also work on a HUGE canvas. I start at 12000x12000 to work on. As I go I shrink it to end up around 600x600.
