Sheesh, you guys are really freakin' me out!
I'm scared to death of getting old and all the crappy stuff that comes with it. Like saggy boobs, pain, wrinkles, a fat butt and not to mention losing your mind! I want to be young forever!

Gah, parasites hands down!
The thought of those icky little things burrowing into my skin or body and eating me alive. Living off me etc etc.
Worms, fungus, insects, flesh eating bacteria, and magots! Gah!
Too scary! It makes my skin crawl!

but snapping a bone.. ouch.
Ive broken my arm twice once the bone came through the skin. Its just like snapping a chicken bone or something.
When you do it its sort of like shock sets in therefore no pain but after a while yes it hurts..

I managed to break my friends wrist in two places... one really close to his hand and one a little further up the arm... it sort of went up before the wrist and then in again and ick... the hand just sort of hung there looking blue...
I'll never forget that sound. ick. |

Fears.. hmmm. Used to be scared of spiders. I had a good reason as is mentioned below.
Where I am in Australia I used to live in bush and there are some big spiders that sit in webs as I found out the hard way (face first into them)... I don't so much mind them sitting there doing nothing. But say if you spray them with fly spray and they starts to bungy jump outta their web and get spastic with their legs, that freaks me out. (Mostly due to my father who has no fear of spiders at all, and decided that a good remedy for me was to chuck a few spiders at me that were rather handy at the time. Hahaha good old dad, made it worse me thinks.) I love small spiders though. Yes jumping spiders rock.
Scary2: Walking in tall grass and hearing a noise in the tall grass right near you. Then seeing the grass moving hehe.
Lots of little fears. None of them really consume me until I go crazy. They are more like dislikes. I'll do what has to be done. |

Fear comes in two flavors, rational and irrational. My fears are thus:
Irrational: Mild claustrophobia, mild arachnophobia (something I can overcome on a case by case basis), and a fear of insanity. I don't fear the dark so much as fear what's in it... even though nothing is there (hence it's irrational). Being christian born, I tend to lump all irrational fears of the paranormal under the title 'demons' and have a deep seeded fear of that which can border on complete terror. I also strangely fear change, I can't be very specific about it.
Rational: Fear of torture, fear of blindness, fear of failure, fear of embarrasment, and fear of the deaths of loved ones (especially if I can't do anything about it, or could but failed). I fear being stuck in a rut while the world passes me by, I fear becoming ignorant or set in my ways to the point of ignorance. I fear for a short life, but not death in specific. A fear a universe without a greater purpose or creator.
Oh... and some of you folks is crazy. Seek help. |

I have a fear of getting my throat cut. I always cringe when they do it in movies. If I see it, I always dwell on it for a while and it drives me nuts. I also hate it when people slit their wrists in movies.
I'm terrified of the ocean, though I've never set foot in it.
I'm terrified of being buried alive.
I also get these dreams where my teeth get knocked out, and it disturbs me when I wake up. There's supposed to be a reason you dream about that, but I don't remember what it is.
Oh, and for the people who hate roaches, I used to live in a house that had these huge 3-4 inch roaches. I think the most I killed in one night was like 6. And some of them flew! |

clowns, needles, and my dad. pretty lame huh, but thats not all, I am absolutely terrified of dying by fire or drowning, that has to be the worst possible way to die. Finally, and this is a bit weird, but I'm scared of running out of things to say or not being able to write. If I couldn't write poems and songs I think I would die of depression. Its terribly disheartening to sit down with your pen and paper and not be able to put any words down. It makes me crazy and very confused. Furthermore I'm scared of the blonde #$%*! at work cuz I know if I rip her head off, shit in her neck and stick her head back on I'll probably get fired. What do you think? |

I'm afraid of spiders. I'm also afraid of my great nonna (whaddya expect, she's 94, doesn't speak English, has a beard and has died twice - and is still alive). And the last one...public speaking. I can't stand in front of a group of my peers, even friends, without feeling like I'm about to faint.
Oh, yeah. I also don't like speaking in a classroom alone with a teacher. They're evil.... |

Oh, and did I mention having to do incredibly long math equations where you have to guess at all but two numbers? I'm good at math, but it scares me. |

I was bit by a centipede 2 weeks ago and have still not recovered. A compound fracture is a mild annoyance in comparison.
It was a real life alien movie. |

Life... Taking a step back and looking at what life really is... Thinking about how small and frail we all are, and thinking about eventually dying... People we love dying and suffering, the earth being polluted and destroyed so we have nowhere safe to go... Wars obliterating the planet... Overpopulation draining our resources and forcing us to fight each other for what little scraps we can find... Everything. I can't stand to even think about death and things like that. |

I've no fear of spiders, but walking threw a cobweb freaks me out. A spider crawling on my neck or face will give me a shiver, but the cobwebs anywhere on my body and I completely freak out for a second.
Potato bugs are scary too. They're big ass crickets with oversized, bright red heads.
Drag this to your location bar
These things are often as long as 3 inches. I remember a thread, possibly on this forum, involving a huge insect of some that was pretty damn scary. Can't remember what it was called, only that it was freakishly large.
My sister has a strange phobia. She has no problem seeing, touching, even tasting blood. If someone TALKS about blood, specifically blood flowing through veins (the more technical, the worse) she blacks out. You could pour a bucket blood on her head and she'd just get pissed at you. But if you just say blood a few times she'll start to get dizzy and possibly pass out.
Oh, and grues are definatly a Zork invention. Always keep at least a box of matches on you else you'll be eaten after 3 moves in the darkness.
Other random scary things.
How bad "Ghost of Mars" is.
The ghost ship in Super Metroid.
The beginning of the second level in Thief.
Stepping on something unknown and moving ... in bare feet.
Jumping on a pile of sand on a beach and having it feel like you jumped on a body (happened to me once, dead sea lion).
Loosing your internet connection when you're kicking ass in counter strike.
Having photoshop disappear (crash to desktop) when you save a file you've been working on all day.
Having 3ds, UnrealED, QERadiant, Painter, Word, etc. do the same.
Wet spots on a carpet in a house with pets, and your bare feet on it.
Seeing a hornet on your car door's window when you're about to get out.
Chicks with really long fake nails.
Chicks with really long real nails.
Guys with really long real nails.
Guys with really long fake nails (in that order).
The power going out during the last 10 minutes of your TV show / movie.
The sound of your cat about to throw up when you're asleep and your cat usually sleeps on your chest.
The sound of glass breaking near by ... when you have bare feet.
People who audibly sniff you when they walk past and smile.
Random people following you at night.
Someone calling you constantly, breathing heavily, then hanging up but never saying a word.
Nails on a chalk board.
Putting your hands in to old work gloves that haven't been used in a long time.
Falling knives.
Large bolts flying at your head.
Running out of clean underwear.
Having your car's wheels hydroplane while you're doing 60.
Watching a car spin out and mis YOUR car by a couple inches.
Loosing your passport in another country.
Having something large and heavy fall towards you.
6+ inch stilletto heels. (Personally ladies, I find a women in confortable shoes far more attractive than those in heels or platforms.)
Running out of deoderant.
Hearing the sound of your hard drive scratching.
Maybe someone should start a thread on fetishes... that should be interesting.

personally.. i'm not afraid of heights.. it's being at heights in a situation where the risk of falling that freaks me out....
.. the only time spiders and such freak me is the middle of the night when i'm going to the bathroom and see one crawling around..
comp wise... software crashes just plain piss me off, but HDD noises scare me...
but at least they're fair warning of an impending crash...
what really freaks me is that Macromedia Flash has been able to reboot any version of windows i've ever used at random.. and i do a lot of work in Flash....
as for life... i'm usually freaked at the possibility that i will not improve and therefor any possibility of getting a good job and lifestyle are gone |
