Nice entry! While it may be counter productive for me to help the competition i do see some areas that you may want to address to make it more viable for a t-shirt.
The main issue i see is a need for stronger contrast. The thing about t-shirts is you only have about a glance and a half to capture a persons attention and it has be done on a moving billboard. It's very easy to overlook more monotone designs. This piece is (quite aptly) all in warm colors but it may make it less of a contender because it all sort of blends together.
My suggestion, would be to add one cool color to offset the warm ones. And it doesn't even have to be a cool version of a cool color (there is such a thing as "warm" blues and purples). Personally, i think a hunter green would be a perfect counterpoint to your color scheme and still be in keeping with the tones of autumn.
The other suggestion i have would be to not do a textured background. The shirt itself will lend it's color and texture to your design and they may have a differnt color in mind when they see this that doesn't coincide with the one you've used. Not to mention that i think part of the contrast problem stems from the background color you've chosen. So it may increase your chances of winning to leave that out and let the figure speak for itself.
Hope some of that helps and best of luck in the contest! _________________

iddi, chaplin: thanks
wren: oh, yep, i forgot to mention the color work is very primitive at this stage. i did intend to use a cool color somewhere - like a light blue. the textured background is actually a placeholder for the t-shirt . the submitted version will be alpha-mapped. thanks for the comments, good luck with your entry too!
