They can be fictional or real. Name them.
Ryuichi Sakamoto-- Musical genius, free thinker, polical activist, and Godfather of world/electronic music.
Julia Ormond- The characters she played in Sabrina, First Knight, Legend of the Fall..etc. They are always passionate, righteous, unselfish, feminine, intelligent, sensitive, romantic, and courageous--qualities that I adore.
Raymond Watt(Pig)-- His twisted lyrics and brutally dark yet strangely satisfying music makes me wonder what an evening of beer and conversation with the guy might be like.
Hope Sandoval(vocalist of Mazzy Star)-- She is the epitome of the mysterious girl. Quiet, brooding, and oh-so-sexy-but-she-doesn't-do-it-on-purpose.
Chow Yun Fat-- Look up "charismatic" in the dictionary, and you'll see Mr. Chow smiling. To quote Mark Wahlberg in an interview:
"He's the smoothest dude I've ever met in my life."
Madoka Ayukawa(from anime series Kimagure Orange Road)-- Anyone who's a KOR fan would agree that she's the perfect chameleon girl. Ever changing, yet always perfect.

Hrmm, fascinates me....well, there are several old time masters of martial arts, but I won't list them all here. Plenty of artists(especially Leonardo). Tolkien. Shakespeare. Errol Flynn(spelling?). I think he outdoes Chow in the charm dept. ;] And of course all the great leaders of history, like Caesar to Napolean. |

Wow, I was going to say Hope Sandoval too, but some of my other ones are: Joe Strummer, Bob Dylan, Stuart Braithwaite (of Mogwai), Wes Anderson (director of Rushmore), and Gene Roddenberry. |

I've been reading the complete works of Franz Kafka recently, the Jewish writer responsible for The Metamorphosis...Starved himself I think. Would've been an interesting person to know.

wayfinder-- Oh yeah, the directors totally casted her as herself most of the time. I thought it was pretty obvious I adored Julia Ormond. . .. |

Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Anne Summers. Also in other roles, but let's admit it she was born for Buffy, and Buffy was written for her.
I've never seen a more perfect meld of acting talents (which are considerable), beauty, personality, and martial skills, in anyone - let alone in such a young person. This would have been a huge coincidence in itself, when you add the role that's so perfect for her, it becomes positively weird.
Allison Hannigan, who plays Willow, is incredible (and incredibly well-cast) too.
I really like "Spike" as well.
I also admire Josh Wedon of course, and all the writers on that amazing work of art. |

Steven-- I never thought of you as a Buffy fanatic! I dunno why. I was one too for a long time until I started working full-time in games(no time to watch, and I ALWAYS forget to record it).
Spike was fawkin' awesome until they turned him into a whinning, sniveling, love-sick puppy. When he first arrived in Sunnydale, it was like, "GODDAMMIT! Rock and ROLL!"
My favorite line of his is:
"You mean people still go for that Anne Rice crap?"
Bwahahahaha! I love how Joss makes fun of his beloved genre. And there was that episode about the wannabe goths. It was hilarious when Spike and his gang locked all the doors and started feeding on the goth kids that worshipped vampires. Such irony!
edible snowman-- err....I don't want to know. |

Lunatique, it's funny, I never thought much of Buffy while it was running originally, I accidentally caught a few episodes, and thought, cool... but I was working too much to get into it.
So when they started showing it again 2 episodes a day at FX I had a second chance, and now I'm lost. I can't help it, I say it's the best thing ever done on tv, period. Joss is a genius, pure and simple. Everything is perfect - the casting, the writing, the music, the acting (except maybe stodgy Angel). To even be able to pull off a musical episode.
The humor is much to my liking. The ideas are plenty, funny and original, the dialogue wittier than Oscar Wilde's best...
But my favorite episodes are the sad ones, like when she kills Angel, or when she fights Faith, when she gets killed, is brought back from the dead but no one realises she was actually in heaven and now is in hell... etc - my all time favorite so far must be "The Body" (when her mother dies, one of the best accounts of personal tragedy I know). She is the best "cryer" I've ever seen, although Dawn's pretty good too.
But just to add some to the thread, here are some other people I admire, some have been mentioned, just a random sample out of a very long list:
Frank Frazetta
Freddie Mercury
Jackie Chan
Gene Wilder
Mel Brooks
Peter Sellers

Steven-- Yeah, but don't you hate it when Joss steps away and have some undeserving writer/director take over for too many episodes at a time? It's always the best when Joss is personally directing or writing the episodes. Any episode that he personally directed is far better than most Hollywood big budget crap movies. I can't wait for him to direct the big screen again(then again, I think he found his calling in television?)
I have to say, Buffy looked much better before they turned her into a bleached blonde.
Listen to us, chattering like little fan boys. Bwahahahaha! |

OW ARGH! Buffy is great.
Although I have to say that buffy is the least interesting character in the series. And the flattest as well. (Not talking about bust size)
But I guess thats just me.
It is sad that so many people think it's cheap and campy. When you get into it you see that it is very well written.
It's kind of funny. O just witnessed the "You mean people still go for that Anne Rice crap?" line the other day on a rerun.
It's pretty cool. haha!
(some) People that fascinate me...
Oskar Kokoschka.
Odilon Redon.
Carl Gustav Jung

you're kidding me right? you guys can't possibly dig the Buff Girl?! A tiny suggestion, look into the Buffy V.S. Series. You have to read the Gatekeeper Trilogy. |

Actually, Buffy is the one I'm the least interested in. She's a bit bland as a person other than her slayer identity. She's actually quite shallow and average teeny-bopper-ish. Not exactly a fascinating person.
The supporting characters is where the series shines. You've got quirky, brooding, dorky, vicious..etc. Fun fun fun. |

What's the Buffy V.S. Series and Gatekeeper Trilogy? Nothing but the tv series comes up on my Searches.
Buffy the character may be slightly bland at times (although at other times she's having kinky sex with a dead guy in public places and hating herself. go figure...), but luckily, since it's SMG herself I'm in love with I don't care.
Seriously, no one in that series rivals her for acting skills and good looks. You could see her talent most clearly when she was playing Faith possessing her body, it was eerie (Dushku did ok, but not as well).
Alyson also did a very good job of playing both Willow's good self and bad vampire self, then switching and playing her bad self pretending to be good, and good pretending to be bad - damn that was great acting.
Like John Travolta in 'Face Off', he BECAME Nicolas Cage, that was truly spooky... |

Steven-- Yeah, no shit. When SMG(Sub-Machine Gun?)was acting as faith, it BLEW my mind. That WAS some amazin' acting.
I've never seen the Willow episode(shame on me!), even though I've heard a lot of people raving about how awesome she looked as an evil vampire chick, and I've been trying to hunt it down, but no luck without actually buying the entire season(a bit expensive). I know I'll probably break down and buy the entire series on DVD eventually though. . ..
I'm not really a SMG fan though. My type is more like Julia Ormond, Jennifer Connelly, Ekaterina Gordeeva--basically elegant/sensual brunettes. Blondes usually don't do it for me, with the exception of unlikely blondes like Ingrid Bergman, Grace Kelly..etc. |
