...long time since I made the start with this portrait....but here I go again. Its still a long way to go but I want to be exact with likness as it is a portrait of a very good friend of mine.

Im still happy to get help with this... Wink

Well, if you are going for exact then you have some work to do but it should be easy as you have a photo.

Look at these references to see your mistakes, the last one was a quick job at using transform and move and scale on your picture and then smudge for touch up. I just did it for fun to see how fast I could do this roughly by eye.

You shouldnt go by it though as this was really fast and didnt check anything but do notice the ones with the guidelines

Use cut and trasnform in photoshop to fix it

btw.. I just cut/paste with white background that wasn't too smooth. Try cut and paste and then paste the original behind it so you want have so much to fix.

After I wrote this I got inspired to see what I cuold do with that not so good photo.. what you think? If you like it feel free to use some ideas for from it in your painting.. I didn't come close to finishing as my hand started cramping from mouse.

The biggest issue I see with the painting is that her nose is too big. Light pointed out her eye being a little off too, but overall that's probably a bit more forgiveable (although fixing the nose might make it more obvious) It's a very good likeness, but I imagine she'd notice her enlarged snout.
