Hi - I'm new to this forum and don't quite get the rating system..
I mean some guys/gals here are just as good/cool as some of the people who have 5 stars but they aren't rated (no stars anyway)..
Personally I don't subscribe to the rating system because some have a cool style but lack skill etc... but - still - it could be useful as a guide to find the best works posted here but that doesn't always seem to work..
Any comments? |

That's exactly the problem of the rating system. It was never intended to be a rating system for the quality of someone`s art but rather for his character, but that purpose has been long forgotten.
Personally I dislike it no matter which of the two things above apply. So I turned it off for me.

Well I think I have two stars, don't know why, don't care why either. I just think it is a bunch of hooha. After a little while you will get a feel for who is worth listening too and who isn't.
Take it as a grain of salt. |

After my idiotic post concerning Faustgfx... I'm surprised I have any stars at all.
It's not a really good system though, since I doubt anyone really looks at the stars... at least, not before reading the persons posts. |

It's a popularity contest and a way to fish for compliments. I turned off mine and refrain from rating anyone who happens to have theirs on.

Rating a picture or "piece of art" makes somewhat sense - or does it? I'm not sure.
I'm not making sense (again)..
Anyway - thanks for putting it straight! I'll completely disregard any "stars" from now on! |
