Well, I had this up in the Work in Progress section and I have since finished it. I''m terrible at landscapes as well as Mechanical things, I can't seem to imagine them out of my head. So, I decided to test myself by painting something containing both of those elements and see how I did. this is the result. Since the WiP I finished off the mech, adjusted a few parts, then boosted the contrast since my original was on the high end of the value scale and looked a little washed out. Anyway, here it is, I appreciate any comments or criticisms you could give me, thank you in advance.

Wow, this is great Keating. The backlighting on the rocks is fantastic.

Something about the Mech doesn't seem quite right. It might be that the landscape makes me think the viewer is looking up, but the mech seems to be facing us and seems out of alignment with the landscape. The mech might benefit from some subtle shadows as well, perhaps where the ladder is and the two cylinders on the left (our right) might be getting some cast shadow from the cockpit, given the light is coming from the left.

Crits aside, this is really cool. Nice work! Smile

There seems to be some proportional (directional) errors with the right leg?
Other then that it looks friggin phantastic!
I really like the colouring, very nice

Thanks for the comments guys. Perspective has never been my strong suit, so I'm putting myself to the test as much as possible. The mech's right leg isn't in line with the other one, I picture it turned to the side like that, which is apparently causing it to look messed up Smile Oh well, you live and learn Smile

Really nice, beautiful colouring on the rocks there. For some reason I'd prefer it if the mech was in the middle distance, not sure why though.
