I really suck at painting landscapes and mechanical things out of my head. I'm terrible at it. So, in an effort to improve, I've started work on this picture. I like it so far ( Even though I cheated and made my landscape essentially just a pile of rocks ). Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to how I could improve both this particular painting as well as how, generally, to improve with mechanical things. Is it best to look at real machines and sort of cut and paste parts mentally? I'm not sure what the best approach is...thanks in advance

It looks fabulous except for the colors, which look washed out. That might be my computer (I am on a Mac) which displays colors a little lighter than PCs, but still, even accounting for that, the colors look washed out. _________________ Madness takes its toll - please have exact change. |
