I do marketing for a sheet metal shop. We have an installation truck which is in desperate need of some signage (logo, phone#, etc.). I have designed robots/mechs which are to be painted on to the truck as well. My question is -what kind of paint should I use to stand up against the elements of daily outdoor use? Or maybe a finish to put on when it is completed to protect it from UV rays and other natural conditions. I have not made any phone calls to places, I just thought I would ask you guys first. Thanks for your help.... _________________ Put a muzzle on her Turkish, before she gets bit. You don't wanna get bit, do you boy? |

Sign painters use a paint called "One Shot". Really durable. Also, really expensive. I've found it at my local art supply store.
Alternatively, you could go the Tuner route and get the gfx printed as a vinyl. A friend of mine wants a tigershark mouth on his boat, and I think that's the way I'm going to do that.
cheers

Thanks for the replies fellas. YVerloc-the robot is a ton of different colors and gradients. Can they do this sort of thing full color? In my experience with vinyl, you have few options in regards to color. _________________ Put a muzzle on her Turkish, before she gets bit. You don't wanna get bit, do you boy? |

I'm hoping you can tell me At this point, I only know that it can be done. No idea what the limitations are. I've got to get the mouth for my friends boat in the next week or so. If I find stuff you about it before you do, I'll post it in this thread.
cheers
