i posted this at pixelation, but since most artists from the community have lacks the abbility to understand anatomy and more depth i than is possible in a minimalistic 32x32 sprite, i am posting it here for feedback. remember that this is pixel art which means that i made it with a 1x1 brush without any tools.
over the last period of months actually i have shown a little bit of manga in some sort of a trilogy. each with a full body sized sprite where i tried to combine my factors of the pixels together and push all the small tricks of pixel art as much as possible.
before battle: i made this a long time ago, but at the present time i was very happy. she has charisma and the sprite has a somewhat dynamic.
during battle: this was a pretty big step in the right direction. mainly because it had a lot more dynamic and the face worked well.
<img src="http://www.8ung.at/drilleddiced/timelostdiced2.gif" height="388" width="150">
after battle: and this is what i finished today. very satisfied with the final results. lacks in some areas, but overall i think it is good.
comments on these entries to the trilogy would be nice. since the third one is not finished i will be seeking feedback on how to tweak it.
thank you. |

Is the problem that he is not good with english or that you can not read? Not everyone has english as a first language and I understood most of what was said.
Anyway overall the anatomy looks good from what I can see in this res. Only the 2nd one legs look a little odd to me. Are these all variations of the same character? |

khaifin: well the text should not really be of importance. this is not an article; its a image gallery. just look at the pretty pictures and post your comment on the art or do nothing. english is not my first language, though i have never been claim to write it poorly. in my defence i would like to say that i was tired when i wrote the post, though i was not tired when i finished the art (most important aspect).
mOO: thank you very much for your interest. these are not variations of the same character, i actually tried to build up different characters. they do have some similarities that i could not prevent because of my style of manga.
about the second entries legs looking odd; you are right, though she is in some kind of movement and it should be correct. additional comments on this would be nice.
thank you for your interest |

Hi diced.
I think anatomically speaking, these images are fine.
I'll focus mny crits on your most recent one. Some of the outlines on the legs, are very dark, and make the general outline look bitty. Perhaps you've done this for anti-aliasing against a specific background colour? If so it would be useful to include the image against that background.
I think currently the face perhaps looks a bit lacking in detail, but that may be more of a personal thing. I like the 'embroidered' detail on the fabric.
Good stuff. |
