wassup, very kind words from a man that makes me PIC UP MY JAW from my desk everytime he post! thanks man and kick ass work everytime. I love to look at work like that last one. And how you get those interesting texture, me will never know, ill stick with the default round round flat brush lol.
thanks guys and great work
oblagon, lighting seems to come easy for you, one stroke here and one there and voila, me, I have to work my butt of getting the light correct. great work dude!
m703-324, really nice stuff and always something deep that makes you think twice! (and yes, its samurai next )
matt, thats a damn good one!
flush, If my sunny acrylic painting made you miss sweden in winter then there is definitely something wrong with my pic hehe. keep it up!
well, these digitally scenerys/landscapes has bored my out royally and this is the last one for me, if I can find time for speedpainting in the future, it's samurais next (did you hear that wassup ? )
in this one i used some old acrylic texture, I also ripped the style from 19th century swedish artist Marcus Larson

Just played at work. I don't know what speed is but this took about 3 hours. Messing around a lot with whatever look comes from it. Hope you like.
Thanks,
Kevin

Pierre, im sorry to say that, but your waterfall-landscape is only really good, but Capt.Flushgardens Sweden-Pic is absolut fantastic, amazing, bad kick ass, wonderful, damn damn damn nice, *gasp for breath* ... its perfect.
Im really interested in some steps, if you have, Flush.
@bm, damn, you got your style.
Its great if names are not necessary.
Edit: forgot to post something.
This is done in colorpencils ... damn, those arent made for sky-colors.

dura, if u didnt already u should try layering with coloured pencils
start off light with the base colours then work in purples , oranges etc just build it up slowly and surely with soft light layers of colour. |

pierre: same goes to you, amazing. abt the texture, you know that donsnt help a lot, just some cheap tricks,im too bad to paint without em:p
isric: nice portrait
elliot: diggin your style very much
m703: the latest ones really nice!
see, yeah im just one of those adorer of Craigs, im tooooo humble to establish something of my own, feel even flattered to be capable to rip his style...sorry, just getting too comfortable to paint in that way, blame me hey the view of your hometown reminds me of somewhere in Freiburg, really sweet
yes i know it did meet something, but what i was gonna paint was just a shipwreck, lain on the beach quietly, sorry for forgetting the seagulls :p
pretty quick,7, 8 min or so

Hi Flush:
i know this might be an odd question, but i'm wondering how you look at objects when you see them. do you imagine the form as a 3d shape, and at the same time look at the color and material it's made of?
the reason i ask this is because you must have a very efficient way of looking at things. when someone would ask me to paint an F14 without reference i would at least need an image to look at very carefully before i go painting(and even then i doubt the result).
i'm starting to sound like a n00b right now, so i'll stop. thanks in advance
here's an oldie, 1 hr with ref

Greetings, I haven't posted in quite some time and of course I forgot my password... and username. I think this is my fourth one.
I see this thread is like cheech and chong, still smoking.
So, I was writing a dark and highly textural love sonet about Mullins, or "The Grand Mullet" as we like to call him when I thought, "let's see what's going down at sijun." A couple new faces..... Wassup! Where's the website?! For Christ's sake man! You're killing me! You fucking rock!
Okay, here's my crap, 2 to 3 hours a piece. Peace
-Ted

Yeah, Gecko-Animals are always great!
Thx, Flush, your Airfight-Pictures are always great! Especially how you got those damn hot effects of the engine. The purple is damn effective!
Probustion, looks good, but cloudy weather is (imho) not the best reference. References with extreme lightsituations are more effective to learn from and help to understand where and why different values appear. Also to paint structure is a question of "how light will react", and the differences between diffferent structures are more visible in extreme lightsituations.
Here is a quick portrait of a german forums-friend called himself "Rabe" (=Raven). Only two(more expressive) selfportraits and a meeting 2months ago in mind:
