i had this idea.
i want to know if it is understandable that the bottle is not on the shore but in the ocean. i guess i can make this more understandable by putting focus on the bottle and bluring out the island and tree as in out of focus, when i add colors?

Nice ... interesting concept, cool perspective as usual!
Right now the bottle covers up the shore almost exactly.
Maybe a different angle could help ...
or move it slightly if you want to make a new sketch!
I love the fish! Adorable! _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |

Also, there's an unusual tangent with the figure's rear end and the bottle that makes it appear that he's sitting on it, which makes the bottle look like it's on land to an even greater degree. |

i lowered the bottle into the ocean. its more sunk now. tried to make the interface between the water and the bottle more visible. is there still the same problem with the bottle looking ON the shore rather than in the ocean near the shore?

I think it's ok like that.
Especially because it would have to be a huge bottle now
... or a really small guy on a small island _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |

i like this quite a lot. not overly detailed at the moment but it still has a nice rounded feel to it. bottle looks in a good place now but i just thought maybe there would be some vague distorted shapes of whats behind the bottle because we can see through glass afterall . or maybe you are having it a green bottle or something like that? ah well thats my two cents anyway. keep it up =) _________________

In this case I like the saturated colors!
Just be careful with the palm leaves.
I think light&shadow could be seperated better (don't ask me how though ).
It's just a quick version to see if the colors work ... right?
The palm might be in the distance but it's a lot too blurry. I think you should use sharper edges.
You probably already know that!?
I love the bottle now! But it looks as if the note disappeared.
And somehow it seems like a side view of the bottle. But the elipses suggest that it is not ...
Somehow this doesn't bother me in the sketches.
Maybe it's just because that one line looks too straight now!?
