no picture is perfect..
I'm not sure how I'd attempt to improve this if it were mine.. hmm, just dunno.
But if no one is commenting, try looking for problems and imporvements by yourself. Horizontal flip is a pretty good way of getting a completely fresh look. |

Somethings you might want to practice on -
Varying your line weight, meaning, try and use different thickness of lines. One common practice is to do outlines and countour lines in a much thicker, darker line while the inside details are left to a thinner line.
Check your reflections on some of the pads there, the shoulder pads especially.
Use higher levels of contrast to make the character stand out more. ( I need to get alot better at this too.. ). Make your dark areas darker and don't wallpaper him with a solid gray, it makes the image flat.
And as always, study anatomy books more and more and more. To draw the human body, you have to know the human body intimately. It's proportions, muscle groups and how they interact with each other. This is what I'm doing right now and it's not easy. Anatomy never was.
Most of all, just keep practicing.

I really can't tell if he is about to blast off or if he is doing a hip hop dance. But i will say you could really work on proportion because i can't tell if he is a man or a robot. But keep practicing because if you believe in yourself as an artist and find your own way in drawing you will reach your goal (This is just my opinion so if you think there is nothing wrong with it, then there is nothing wrong with it because you created it and no one can take that away from you). _________________ Gentlemen... from this day forward you will refer to me by thy name Betty.......But isn't Betty a womans name? |

The lack of comments might be beacsue some of the issues that have been overlooked in the piece aren't easily overcome in one singe effort. so people, rather than telling you what they see, are are choosing to let you find out by yourself.
A something i suggest you practice with is form (how shape is described by light and shadow) to give your image a more 3 dimensional look. This involves imagining where the light comes from and through some effort "see" where it would light up your object, where it would produce shadow, where it would reflect and where there would be a cast shadow. Using reference is not something that is frowned upon, no matter what you hear said. Prefer live reference over photographic though. _________________ It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice - Scooter |
