Hey there, here's a mecha/roboty thing I drew to use as a web interface for my programming I class, using absolutely no reference to any famous statues by Michelangelo
It's the third time I've tried to color something on the computer and I think this time it turned out all right.

Hey, warning- I got a free host and there are some pop-ups. You mention a better free host and I'll switch.
I am really looking for helpful critiques and/or suggestions on coloring techniques in photoshop. Thanks thanks.

Although i really can't help you with your technique, i CAN tell you that i like the pic a lot. Coloring seems to be very well done just like the drawing itself. Keep up the nice work!

Nice illustration, I can't help with the coloring, as I suck at it. But I think nexykin is right about the proportions, especially the hands and calves look a bit small. Otherwise nice pic. |

aroma--Well, thanks for the kudos, man.
nexykun--Thanks, glad you like the pic. As for the critiques, could you be a little more vauge? Seriously, man, what is it about the proportions and light-sourcing that you don't think work? I'd appreciate your comments.
eigam--Thanks for your comments--I see what you're saying about the wrists and ankles being small. I totally agree. Looks like I made that mistake all on my own. Michelangelo would never do that!
UkiTakuMuki--Thanks--When I draw robots out of my head, they always end up looking like this-organic/metallic style. Harder lighting? That's a good suggestion, I think. I had one fellow tell me to just draw a linear separation between light and dark areas first, and THEN soften up the edges if need be. I think I'm going to try that the next time I color.
Cicinimo--?? What meanest thou by this? yo. |
