Below are some images recently commissioned by a New York band called Killbox. They are for use in the CD booklet for their upcoming release. The theme of the album being recent events in the catholic church.
The images are were designed to meet their specific requests using a style similar to that in my Dagguerotypes series. I originally intended to convert them to grayscale then sepia tone them after painting to more closely match the series from which the band requested the images but in the end everyone liked them better in color.
Enjoy.

Oops. Sorry.
Try that again.

Man, friggin' wicked. The first is my favorite.. and scares the crap outta me. The drawings on the wall are really what'll keep me up tonight. I'm by no means the most experienced critic here, but I like it a lot. Not Catholic or the heavy church-going type, but the contrast is cool. _________________ 'why', is all I hear in my mind,

Fantastic.
Very tastefully done - it'd be awfully easy to get far more graphic or vile with such subject matter, and I think you capture the true pity and hurt of the crimes than could have been done by following another route.
Very nice work. |
