I hope you don't mind me asking for help here. Besically i've lost sight a bit of where this pic was going, i know i plan to paint the other person the same as the one whose skin is mostly finished and the same for the hair although the color of the hair may change. I'm not however entirely certain of the background. It needs more refinement of course but beyond that it needs more elements to it and that's what i'm not sure of. Any suggestions and crits are welcome. Thanks

The red drapes along with the stiff, thinking about someting really important, or not, expressions, for some reason add up to a surrealist look for me. A fish on tha table, some bizarre wall hanging...know what I mean. I really like the look of your rendering technique. It has a very tactile feel to it..so expoit it. Give me lots of textures and strange little details only lit up enough so we think we know what they are. Yeah, thats it, darker, that will make the setting smaller, draw your attention to the center and make it feel more intimate.
