My Website: The Hamster Alliance
A buddy of mine, Volume12, of mine made the initial layout using Photoshop and Dreamweaver on a mac. I then assaulted it with Photoshop5 and evolved it to what it is now by adding a few things. |

*points at sig* follow the bouncing links...
It's mostly HTML, with quite a bit of CSS and a little JavaScript tossed in. I did it all myself in my favorite program, Notepad. The second design I've ever come up with and I still need new colors. Fweh. _________________ ~Gio

My photography site... really happy with it right now, though it could use an update. The splash and main page (the album) I did on my own, laid out in PS and set up an image map for the book. The code for the individual gallery pages was done by my boyfriend. He set it up so that its VERY easy for me to update the pages. Yay _________________ My Art.

I wrote mine in XHTML and CSS in Homesite (so it's all handwritten). It uses iFRAMES and css layers with absolute positioning and all those gubbins... plus javascripts left and right to open the pages correctly in the iframes.
So it's designed in Photoshop, menu and box-topics were cut out, and the background then positioned with css.
Took about 2 days to code.
Won a few of those silly ass web-awards too pfffffffffffft ;P _________________ Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari? |

booyah - just a few things for now (btw Phil - nice Flash stuff). My personal stuff is just plain ol' reliable HTML with some CSS. Everything else is javascript, ASP, etc (done mainly by the uber programmers at work). My primary applications for development are Photoshop and Dreamweaver UltraDev.
Main Sequence Design is really my own personal site and not a real outlet for soliciting work (some work maybe...depends); BE ADVISED that this site is not officially live and is still in development - lots of parts lying around, so be careful.
Main Sequence
My bread and butter comes from nporta; our flagship software package is TravelASP. I've pretty much directed all creative developments here all the way down to nporta site to the TravelASP client template implementations (more like production work, really)
nPorta and TravelASP Demo Site
The guy that owns nporta just acquired a majority share of Market Central; Scott, one of our nporta developers, and I knocked this out in about 7 wooring days. I drove all the creative on this project.
Market Central
Shadowboxer was a combined effort with me and and our other "then" designer Will Crowther (Will is an ASP junkie now). I handled all of the flash stuff (it's use is very secondary being used a design element and not functional), some content illustration and production work.
Shadowboxer
Did Webbieworld with Mark Connell (nporta's Chief Technologist and a buddy) years ago - kind of a site submission portal of sorts. It's heavy on content but light on graphics:
Webbieworld
Mark's personal - a reall quickie done over beer and pizza!!

Flash? I am typically a big advocate of Flash - especially these days, because it has a strong technology behind it that is tailored more to interactivity; however, I tend to shun it in exchange for a faster medium for displaying information. I believe it's often better to pick a streamlined format for displaying the information. Whole site solutions with Flash can be problematic - if the site is a huge repository of data and content; all of that stuff has to load first - it's time consuming. A standardized template or shell with html generated content is usually faster and more reliable.
My biggest grievance is the uber flash intro movie. Most of the time I visit a site, because there is something there I want to get - information, but upon arrival I get "Vegas Strip Show" treatment. Even though there might be a "skip intro" link there, I still have to interactively get around it - woof. Can I just get to the press release or gallery of works, please?
In all fairness Flash is an extremely useful medium and is very strong. If I were a full serviced design shop I might showcase it more. My favorite use for Flash is multimedia presentations that run off a CD. _________________ - Tom Carter

Awetopsy - I especially like the fact that you "pencil roughed" the navset and header elements - it's different and stands out. _________________ - Tom Carter

This is probably the 5th version of my site in a year. This version has a simple html version and my first flash version.
http://www.mindsiphon.com
I used Photoshop. Image Ready, Flash and Dreamweaver.
I'll most likely be changing it again. _________________ Mindsiphon Dark Art |

Ha! Thought I'd join in the fun even though my web 'site' is more of a 'page' at the moment :
My Little Site
Made using illustrator, photoshop, golive.
Also worth a look from a design perspective is 'The Studio'.
