what are your plans for valentines... those of you have significant others that is.

Im doing a "12 days of valentines" thing where the days before valentines I am doing something using the corresponding number....

Day 1 I gave her one chocolate from a specialty store here in town
Day 2 I gave her two helium filled balloons that said " I love you"
Day 3 Today Im giving her 3 love songs lyrics.
etc etc... until Day 12 (valentines) Im going to say I love you to her in 12 different languages... and have them all written out and give them to her so she can keep them. Smile

so how bout you people?

I have no clue, I've only done valentines day Twice(1988 and 2002) - It's not something I usually celebrate or even remember exists.

the past:
1988, Held at gun-point at a christian school to make saint Valentines themed arts and crafts. got a scooby doo card and some candies...hrm.

2002, I didn't remember it existed until she showed up in sexy lingerie. celebrated profusely. Brought her roses and custom things next day...oops.
---

2003? - Well...I liked the 2002 version, but I guess I'll celebrate this year by not showering for 12 days.

VIP passes to Cirque du Soleil! Woooo!

Although the fact that it falls on V-Day is coincidental, we would have gone anyways.

my turn.

because i'm poor, and i have alot of paints, i would buy one rose, and paint it 12 times and give her the painting. that way she gets a dozen roses that will never die.

typical art thing... sorry..

I'll probably be eating those damn V-day related cinnamon heart candies until I can't feel my freaking mouth and craft rocking chairs out of 2x4 using my tongue as sand paper.

could also lay down on my roof and watch the stars untill I fall asleep and die from hypothermia O_o

yippi.....celibacy sucks

I'll be at work, washing the myriad dishes that come from romantically dining couples.

What day is that? I'll probably either be at school, or if I'm not, I'll be doing something with my boyfriend.

Last Valentine's day, a girl I thought I was dating (hey, she left her bra at my place only a few days prior) called me to ask for directions to a restaurant because her date couldn't find it.

I held the phone at arm's length and stared at it for a second, in disbelief. I put the receiver back up to my ear and she was in the process of spelling the name of the restaurant for me.

Mormon girls. Never again.

I've never had a girlfriend on New Years Eve or Valentines Day . . . something about those holidays always leaves my ass stood up.

Agh... Valentines Day. Last year I'd just dumped my long-standing boyfriend right before it, so I was a bit down, and with all those kissy valentine's day ads it felt like they were rubbing it in my face!

This year is better. I just started seeing a guy. Unfortunately, he lives at home in Saint John... I live here in Sackville. It's a two hour drive and I have no car, nor does he. He might call, I guess, but that'd be the extent of it.

Bah, maybe I'll just sit around with the girls and we'll all drown our sorrows with some kahlua and watch Sleepless in Seattle. The idea of a makeover is looming over my head Shocked They want to buy me hairclips for some reason. I think I'll just run and hide now...

HAPPY I'M-RICHER-THAN-YOU DAY!!!

HAPPY I'M-NOT-BALDING DAY!!!

HAPPY I-HAVE-JOB-SECURITY DAY!!!

All of these are equally as fucking redundant as Valentines day. Who on earth could have concieved a more evil and cruel way to remind single people how lonely they are. Nice one.

We could draw that back all day, but it would only lead to one business person who wanted $$ Wink

Not only is it v-day for me but anniversary as well so you wanna talk being put into the preverbial corner.

I made her a 4foot by nine inch vertical digital painting set in frosted glass and framed, a custom 4 cd pack with cover and an hour massage. I just find it so easy and cheap to just go and buy something, any tool can bust out the credit cards and pick up roses and chocolate but for you to be original and actually create something for your significant other is equally rewarding for both parties in my eyes.

Still going out for dinner though just to keep some tradition.

Composers: John Du Prez & Eric Idle
Authors: Eric Idle & Graham Chapman
From the Album 'Monty Python's Contractual Obligation'

Inflammation of the foreskin reminds of your smile
I've had ballanital chancroids for quite a little while
I gave my heart to NSU that lovely night in June
I ache for you my darling, and I hope you get well soon

My clapped-out genitalia is not so bad for me
As the complete and utter failure every time I try to pee
My doctor says my buboes are the worst he's ever seen
My scrotum's painted orange and my balls are turning green

My heart is very tender though the parts are awful raw
You might have been infected but you never were a bore
I'm dying of your love, my love, I'm your spirochaetal clown
I've left my body to science but I'm afraid they've turned it down

My penile warts your herpes, my syphilitic sores
Your moenelial infetion, how I miss you more and more
Your dnob's itch my scrumpox, our lovely gonorrhoea
At least we both were lying when we said that we were clear

Our syphilic kisses sealed the secret of our tryst
You gave me scrotal pustules with a quick flick of your wrist
Your trichovaginitis sent shivers down my spine
I got snail tracks in my anus when you spirochaetes met mine

Gonoccalurethritis, streptocalbalinitis,
Meningo myelitis, diplococcal cephalitis,
Epididymitis interstitial keratitis,
Syphilitic choroiditis and anterior uveitis.

I think thats really sweet , Awetopsy!

I think Im just hanging at my BF place because there aren't really romantic things going on there, theyre putting up some kind of meeting because they want to talk to the mayor and stuff and besides that It's his birthday and his whole family will be over so i guess I'll have to eat pie (wich i dont like at all) and have to go to that stupid meeting, only to be with him, I hope he has a little bit romance planned or I'll be bored all day......

I hate Valentines day. Its right up there with every other holiday that requires gifts.

Definition: Valentines Day, circa 10 years into marriage: An opportunity for a husband to either break even (after 10 years you SHOULD know exactly what I want), or the opportunity to become the worlds most insensitive jerk (why would you think I want that? That is way too small/big/wrong color/not romantic/not practical). There is no real win scenario here, the best the husband can do is break even. Break even romantically that is, financially you always take a loss.

The annoying part is that the same gift on a non-holiday is much different. However the expectation on V day is unrealistic.

Would any of you guys really sweat it if your wife/girlfriend did NOT buy a $7 card?

<big'old fucking shrug>

What am I going to do? The same thing I do every year, spend more than I can afford and try to tiptoe through the minefield as best as I can.
