Wrapped up in a blanket, I found my self a nice little spot on my roof and watched in amazment for a few hours. I had no idea that it was gonna be like that. A couple came real close passing through the clouds. Aparently these were rare and prooved to be quite the show. The trail they left behind was what really got my attention. They kinda left a blueish greeny streak that looked like a stretched eye. It was so very inspiring and left me in a state of aww.

Anyone else get a glimps?

Unfortunately no. i didna even know that there was one until this morning. they say that there wont be another one as bright and as beautiful as that one until 2099. bummer...i dun think i want to stick around that long just to it. i really wish i had know about it tho. >sigh<

I got up at 2am walked outside in my underwear, looked up at the sky, and didn't see a damn thing! Turns out if i'd been more patient and waited id have seen it, but it was getting a bit drafty, so I went back to bed. Seems everyone who saw it really raves about if though.

I went out about 1:30 and watched a little. It was pretty nice.. there were a few really bright ones.. It looked pretty good.

yup i was outside at like 2oclock and saw alot. it was actually pretty awesome, and a few big ones did have a cool blue-green streak.

That was the first real meteor SHOWER I'd ever seen. It was awesome, especially for an astronomy buff like me.

You remember the railgun from Quake 2? The blue trail it left behind is the same principle as the blue-green trails behind the meteors. They're basically vapor trails, from the meteors entering at such a high speed that it burned up, leaving only residue behind. Very cool stuff.

Um. Poxin.. not to doubt you or anything, but all of the meteors burn up at about 50 miles above the Earth. The clouds are a mile or two, tops. If a meteor had passed through the clouds, I'm sure you would have been knocked from your seat as it exploded and disintegrated.

Aparently most of them were the size of a grain of sand but a few large ones made it rather close. They call these "fireballs" and are quite rare

A little over half way through the vid one of them goes through the clouds. This is rather similar to the one I caught a view of.

No falling out of my seat but it was rather bright. Looked alot like lightning.

I was able to drag my sleepy ass out of bed around 4:30. Stayed out until 6am. Awesome show. Really incredible. Froze my arse off too >8)

I did see it..

My sister and I went out and leaned on my car and watched it from about 12 to 2:30, when we were frozen solid. My house is on a good size property surrounded by trees but my front yard/driveway/parking area is pretty wide open so I had a perfect view. It was so pretty.. especially the colored ones. There were blue ones, green ones and some red ones. At around 2:00 I didn't take my eyes off the sky because they came so often, like in groups in minute intervals. I hope I live for 98 more years at least so I can see the next one.

i saw it at it's peak, the sky was clear but man, was it ever cold out!!!! brr...

I was out filming a music video that night early a.m. We started out filming from 1 a.m. right up until 9 the following morning. It sure was cold but it made for a much nicer show. The Northern Lights were out slightly and added to the show. I drove back from Calgary from a film wrap party that night before the video shoot and watched the ones during the evening. Beautiful. Truly a breathtaking experience. I'm glad I got some on DV as I was able to show a few people. But honestly, video and film can't capture the amazement of being outside for real and surrounded by them. Literally, there was thousands within the time period apparently (though it seemed like hundreds to me) but there was one or two or 3 every second in almost every direction you would look. We are very fortunate to have great skies in Alberta. They kept going right up until we finished our shoot and we're still going as first light and morning light came up. A breathtaking experience for sure.

A few friends and I got up and headed out of the city to get away from the lights but it was cloudy and when we got to our destanation it started to rain. So I didn't get to see it.

Althought a few years back saw the moon turn red... That was a big thing too. Got a few pics of it but they turn out really weird. I'll post them someday when I can find them again.

Well, I live in Arizona. Supposedly one of the best spots in the world to watch the meteor storm........But..
I missed it.
I only caught the last couple minutes of it. ( I saw like 6 or 7 shooting stars thought. )
I was inside in front of the comp painting as usual. :/

We counted over 120 in 1/2 hour. It was pretty cool. I was kinda hoping couple would hit the surface or come very close... that would be a sight!
