Feerik- Wow, this is a really nice image. It has a strong sense of movement and the technique is great. Pardon my ignorance, but how did you achieve that dry brush-scratched look? Goes very well with this.

I like them, nice.
But they make me wonder if you control painter or painter controls you...

apb>> Thanks Razz

Ragnrok>> Your remark is interesting. Someones use textures to bring matter, but i prefer to use tools like this one. All is question of method.

interesting... esp. like that first one.

So this is all painter?... very different looking...

although I'm not sure what it is, but that last one is a little hard on my eyes... maybe i's the craziness of all the colors but it's still well done. Nice work Smile

Very very very refreshing style you bring, Feerik! Very Happy Great to see such a daring use of colours, strokes and focus. Your creations seem like you enjoyed a lot of freedom doing them. Gotta love that Scrathboard Rake, huh? Smile

Great work, fantastic technique. Welcome aboard!

The images posted here are great! Had a Metal Gear Solid feel to it mixed in with an oil type quality. You are well on your way to becoming one of the gods of the digital media.

I took a look on your site and saw a couple of other images that don't hold up to the same feel and consistency that shows in your work here. I would probably try to have the images there keep the same kind of feel as the ones poster here or at least at the same quality. Seeing an inconsistency like that would make me as a prospective client wonder which one am I going to get? I'd say to keep down the path you are traveling with the images you posted here, I think and see interesting developement there. It's a look I have not seen digitally or for that matter, traditionally either. It feels like the next Goodbrush is coming.

Great Great Great!!!

Yes Feerik, the next Goodbrush. My friend and I agree that you're taking Goodbrush to the next level. Where Goodbrush has stopped you've taken his style and mixed it with an oil paint technique, which probably isn't easy to carry off in a digital format and mixed it again with another great style which I call the Metal Gear Solid style. It's a definite progression in Goodbrushes look. I guess he gets the credit for it because he's the one who's brought it to the masses. He once told me that he forces himself to paint everyday. My hat is off to you and Goodbrush as both your painting styles are years beyond my own. I'm still dabbling in photoshop and learning it's tools and figuring out how to pull off Goodbrushes style before I start to let "me" leak into it. That's exactly what I see in you. You've got his style and now "You" can be seen because you're sensibilities are showing.

Usually when this happens is when you'll see the weaknesses in someones art knowledge and skills start to show up, but it's obvious that you don't have any or very little. I can't see any weaknesses within your technique.

I'm studying your images here again with a more discerning eye and I can't find anything wrong with any of these images. The more I look the more I'm amazed. The sense of action you have in the images. How you've laid your images out and how your secondary images only help to accentuate and push your eye back to the main vocal point is done very well. Your lighting is good too. I guess the one comment I would have is that you could try to make the lighting more dramatic and moody. I think that's the one thing Goodbrush might have over you is his sense for dramatic lighting. Perhaps in your next images you could try and push yourself by breaking the rules and seeing if you can make it work. It's always something that I like to do. If you have any images done like that I would love to see them. If you don't I would love to see them. Hehehe, hint hint.

Love your work, can't wait to see more.

If you're wondering who else likes your work you can check out his work at www.digitalxtreem.com. He's like a brother to me and I've watched him learn to paint in photoshop to a Goodbrush quality in only like 6 months. I am totally amazed by people like you and my friend Alp. I've learned a lot from him which can't be seen in the images I'm showing now because frankly all my new stuff, which is about a 2 inch thick stack of sketches, can't be shown to the public yet. But once I get the go ahead I'm going to open the floodgates. Hopefully I'll even have a couple of digital pieces to show also. Be careful to never stop progressing your art because there is always someone coming up from behind. Don't worry it's not me though, I still love to get my hands dirty.

Keep it up,

Kevin

Well!!!! Which compliments!!!! Embarassed
I don't know if i deserve it but i'm really touched!!!
I haven't the claim to compete with Craig Mullins (Spooge Demon here), he's still a master for me. I try to get the same level of quality but it's tough.

I'm still in experimentation in this way, since a few weeks. About your friend Alp, I knew his work and i'm absolutely fan! If i was you i'll be proud to know someone like him! Wink
I'll be interested to know you better, both of you.
Promise, I warm you when I'll be (I hope) a REAL goodBrush!!!!!! Very Happy

Still one thousand thanx, Kevincu, Alp, Tomasis, Dr Bang, Yorric, Frost and Petteri. After so much compliments, I can sleep quietly! Laughing

Feerik: Excellent style, sense of movement. I enjoy your work quite a bit.

Kevincu: So many truths you speak! I'm in awe, and I'm not sure if it was the realization that your friend had aquired a "goodbrush " level of skill in half a year, or if it was the brilliantly anecdotal conclusions you've met: "you're taking Goodbrush to the next level". Or maybe it was your good old fashioned encouragement: "you could try and push yourself by breaking the rules and seeing if you can make it work." I like you, homey.

Cicinimo

PS. yeah, that was uncalled for.

Very nice!! I love the first one.. that stroke going parallel to his chin is really really well put Very Happy

and I totally agree with that earlier comment in this thread.. theres energy in that first picture! hope to see more Smile I love the art work!! wow..

I don't want to discourage anyone.. and I definitly don't want to start an argument.. I'm just stating my opinion.. You have a hell of a lot talent thats for sure.. and i'm sure you have the ability to reach the level of Craig Mullens some day.. sure.. theres no set measure for art as its a personal thing.. but keep practicing and working .. for everyone can always get better.. I don't think I like the idea of someone comparing one artists work to another artist.. and then telling one artist how he/she is soooo much better than the other..

take care everyone

I would find it the greatest compliment that an artist could give me. To be even close to the same level of Goodbrush would be the best compliment I could get. To be compared to him would even be greater!!!
